Personal

These blog post share more about me as a person. Personal feelings, life lessons, reflection, etc.

Dear Dad, I have Daddy Issues

Hey Cuties, Last weekend the family and I took a road trip to North Carolina. I wasn’t sure if this was a trip I wanted to take; I hadn’t been there in eleven years. The last time I went it was out of obligation a bit. I had been a year prior to bury my uncle and I was about six month pregnant with my first child. The family was so excited to see me and excited to see that I was going to be a Mom. So I returned a year later with my eleven month old son for a visit.

Dear Son, I want you to know…

Hey Cuties, I've gotten a bit personal today; I've been all in my feelings about parenting. My son is wrapping up his last two months of elementary school and I feel some type of way. I'm far too young {36} to have a middle school child. It seemed like this phase was light years away, yet we are here. I'm sharing a love letter to my son, my first born.

Currently – January 2016

Hey Cuties,

What is currently going on? I'm juggling a lot of things; I don't feel like I'm 100% on top of them but I'm surviving. The weather folks are guessing that we are about to get a foot of snow dumped on us today and into the weekend. Hello Blizzard 2016! Don't worry, I have cinnamon buns, brownie mix, cake mix, and chocolate melts. Hello #FatSnacks and DIY crafts to share with my cuties. I hope you are safe, you are warm and you have fun things to do or wine to sip.

5 Things my Toddler taught me about Separation Anxiety

Hey Cuties,

How was your weekend? Did you go from a 60 degree Sunday to a 37 degree Monday? Well we did, and it's downright rude and disrespectful. I went to Philly and I can't wait to share my recap with you. It won't go up until next Monday because this week is Nori week on the blog. She is "My Girl" his "Fats" she is our second and final child and our only girl. She is funny, she is shy, she is bold, she is a lot of things but she will very lovingly give you the side eye of death. She is no stranger to the blog at all. If you follow me on social media then you see the pictures of me tackling her hair each week or her prancing around life in a tutu. She turns four years old tomorrow and she has been counting down since October.

Kicking … and taking names. Hello 2016

Happy Hump Day!  My schedule says we are back at work, but my body hasn't gotten the memo yet.  I shared my year in review with you and the reception made me feel like a rock star.  Now I want to share my 2016 with you. Buckle up, you know for safety, don't touch the radio but by all means do enjoy these jams. It's a new year but I'm the same Cutie, just turning up on these dreams.  I'm sharing them with you because you're my cuties; and you will keep me accountable.

Happy New Year : MimiCutelips 2015 Year in Review

Hey Cuties,

We are down to the last day of 2015, Happy New Year! I appreciate you for rocking with me. I hope I've shared something that connected with you one way or another.  I read all your comments and I try to reply to each of them. I don't take your time for granted, you could be anywhere in the world but I appreciate that you come here to chat with me. This year has been major in a rather low key kind of way. Sometimes it takes some reflecting to realize just how far you've come. That applies across the board in life, when we are in the thick of things it's hard to realize the how far we've come. 2015 was a year of preparation for me and let me tell you MIMICUTELIPS IS READY HONEY!

5 Tips for getting Thanksgiving ready

Hey Cuties,

It is Thanksgiving Eve, is that even a thing? Do you have collards soaking in the sink? Is your bird in the fridge marinating in eleven herbs and spices? My Thanksgiving preparation is different than most I'm sure.  I like to refer myself as a new age gal with a twist. I do cook, because duh I have a family. However I'm not a gourmet cook or anything like that but I likes to eat. #FatSnacks.  Last year I tried my hand at preparing my first Thanksgiving meal and it was a hit. Now that I've crossed that item off my bucket list its back to bringing the beverages and flatware.  This year we're just showing up.
