Summer Wrap – Miami, Puerto Rico and more

I haven’t posted a new blog since the spring, so I thought I would do a summer wrap up.

May: I kicked my summer off with a girl’s trip to South Beach, Miami. The weather was perfect, the sky was clear, the beach was refreshing and the morning sunrise on the roof of the hotel was breathtaking, and the food was OUTSTANDING!! We had the best hotel view ever and prime picking for people watching. We even had a few celebrity sightings Ciara, Raheem Devaughn, R.L., Floyd Mayweather, and Amare Stoudemire.

June: The family and I got together again to participate in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure here in Washington, DC. This year we would be walked in honor or TWO BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS; my boyfriend’s Mom and now my Mom. I posted a blog earlier this year when my mother was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer.

July: My Babe and I went on a Babymoon {a vacation taken by a couple that is expecting a baby in order to allow the couple to enjoy a final trip together before the many sleepless nights} to San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was beautiful!!!

August: Back to school, my son is now a First Grader. This really is the reminder that summer is over. We did back to school shopping, I had the first day of school jitters, and homework for the parent just as much as the student. A few days later we found out we are adding a healthy baby girl to our family. Oh, and how could I forget we experienced out first Earthquake ever (5.8) and took a tiny beating from Hurricane Irene. Lastly, I finally got to meet my God Son for the very first time. (He lives far away)

We are officially in the “last weekend” of the summer as we celebrate Labor Day in a few days. I must say I am excited about the fall weather and looking forward to the holiday season. I hope you made the most of your summer.
