#Xtreme13 is still going on, we can’t quit now we still have a few months left in the year. This is the Race addition, some wet, some muddy, some just running but all of them a lot of fun.
First up is the Roc Race: This race was supposed to be Wipe Out Style, it was advertised to be big fun. They had a great idea, but they failed to execute it properly. This was their first year out the gate and well, they didn’t have many obstacles. My Babe did this Race with two of his motorcycle friends. Nori and I came along to cheer them on and take pictures. This was a 5K of fun so they say.
Nori is helping Da-Da stretch before the race
My Babe and his friends, he is an avid runner and promised not to just leave them. lol
Nori and I waiting for them to get in line. We are both sporting our Junk Chuck’s.
They had to come down this steep inflatable moon bounce slide for the big finish.
Next up in the Mud Factor: this race landed in our inbox via Groupon/LivingSocial deal (I can’t recall which one) and the price was right. At this point we had already signed up for some other races so we figured we would sign up for this one too. This was a 5K obstacle race in Buds Creek, MD. My Babe and I do this race with two of his motorcycle boys. With our summer being so busy I hadn’t been working out or running (Read so no prepared for this race) so I was feeling unprepared. If I could I would have backed out but my Babe is not that kind of guy. I would never I mean NEVER live that down. So here I am…
We are pulling into the parking lot entrance of the Race.
I struggled START to FINISH! If it wasn’t for my Babe I wouldn’t have made it.
He kept me going when I couldn’t keep myself going. It was real poetic and such. lol
All in all I made it and I didn’t give up. Mud and all I was a trooper.
My Babe, my partner for life, my athletic hero.
I don’t believe in purchasing these pictures.
I mean I’ve already paid the price of registration.
So here is the group picture of the 4 of us in PROOF.
I thought the medal was so cool, it was shaped just like the bandanna they gave us all.
Spartan Race:This year the Spartan Race took place in Nellysford, VA. Never heard of it? Me either, I’m told it’s a little town in the midst of a mountain. It’s 3hrs outside of the Washington, DC area so the kids and I didn’t go. Babe totally rocked it out BY HIMSELF. None of his friends participated this year. He was in the 10:00AM group and took the lead within the first half mile.
He said it was a lot of up and down the mountain and in and out of the forest. The elevation also played a part as he could feel his ears popping as he did the 8-10 mile obstacle race. This year they provided them with a headband that hair their number on the front and the Spartan Race on the back.
Here is a picture he sent me before the race so I could see the headband.
Here are his stats out of EVERYONE that ran the race in this location:
23rd in his gender
5th in his age group
As cocky as he can be he most certainly earned the right to walk around like a peacock (chest poked out) for several days. I know he is good at these things but I had no idea how great he was in comparison to everyone else. This year he said the race was tougher than any other race he has done to date.
Electric Run: This run was pretty much like the Glo Run the girls and I did back in April. We had a different cast of characters but the same good time. This time we were most festive and ready.
I got my glo accessories from Wal-Mart. They were a buck a pack. SWEET!
This kick ass tutu was made by From Mi To You. I wanted to have it ready for the Race for the Cure back in June but I was slow going on the production. It’s done now and well you can expect to see it everywhere.
(As I type this blog the girls are talking about another after dark glo party 5K)
The crowd was a stone cold party start to finish.
I was a stone cold party too.
This is my girl Jackie (left), my cousin Ty (bottom right) and me and Jackie’s girls up top. That was our first meeting but they were totally down. MY KIND OF PEOPLE!
Even the water station was a party.
Yes this was a run but if you know me, then you know I will miss out on NO good photo ops. They decorated the course and well I had to capture it. How sweet are these umbrellas hanging in the trees.
(Pose for the camera CLICK CLICK)
It didn’t stop there either, how totally kick ass is this screen. I stood behind it and my cousins took the picture. I was going for a doll baby look. ANTM I am not, but I love it.
After lots of photos and a good time we finished the race. They had a huge after party with music beer (if that’s what you like), crazy people dressed in crazy outfits and lots of music. We had a good time.
Oh wait I purchased some really sweet cross training shoes a week ago and they were the BEST!!!!
Next up is my Babe’s Marine Corps Marathon Race in October and another late night run with the girls in November. Either way I will blog about it.
