The Nori Chronicles – Parenting a Little Mi

Hey Cuties,

In the summer of 2011 I was so ecstatic to find out what my second and final baby would be. Yes I wanted a healthy baby but I wanted my GIRL! My son had been asking for a little sister for years. Well, at age 7 his wish would finally come true.

They were BFFs from the start.
What I didn’t know is this little person in here would turn out to be a carbon copy of me. My mother is allegedly claiming this to be fact; jury is still out on that. This weekend I guess my mother proved her point. On FB for the world to see. hahahaha

Nori Michelle turned 1.5 years old and suddenly became “a lot of woman” so I like to tell her. It’s always SOMETHING! She is independent, bossy, demanding, and rude at times. Conversely she is very sweet, helpful, and loving. While she loves to fight with her brother he is by far her most favorite person.

I frequently share Nori & Nasir’s antics on Facebook and Instagram. So much so I decided to add a Nori Chronicles to my blog.

The Cast Members:

  •  Nasir – 9 year old big brother. Formerly an only child for 7 years and 2 months.
  • Nori – 2 year old little sister, self-proclaimed second Mother of our home.
The Facebook funnies:

Nori is the bossy one of the two, but Nasir is the creative one. All those years of being an only child allowed his imagination to run free. He comes up with all kinds of things for them to do and she goes along with it.

Whenever a box enters our home the two of them play with it until it ends up in recycling while they sleep.
Nori & Nasir frequently ask me to record them or take their picture. Who am I to deny them? In 5 more years I can pull out all of these videos and pictures to remind them of their loving bond when they can’t find a reason to even like one another. lol

Below is a video of Nori doing a Q&A with me.
We started teaching Nori basic sign language when she was a baby. As a toddler we taught her a little more. It’s something our family of four loves to do together. It’s so cute to see her sign.
I will play this video at her wedding, it always makes me smile.

She has so much personality! My girl is the same way. I am thankful that my son is as laid back as he is because if both of them were as high strung I would be crazy!

She really does, I can’t wait to see what great things she does in life. My son used to be rather laid back, once school started that changed. lol
