Dirty Little Secrets for the end of Summer

Growing up summer seemed like such a long time, as a parent it seems way to short. I feel robbed, those 10 weeks come and go before you’ve done all that you planned to do back in June.  The reality is summer is over, the temps have been cooler in the DMV area and school starts in two days.

Even though we purchased new school uniforms a few weeks ago we {the parents} still weren’t ready to let summer go. So we decided to have a little last days of summer fun before we are back to signing 25 forms the first week of school, fighting over homework, staying up way too late working on school projects and getting back to our early to bed, early to rise routine.

So this is what we did…

end of Summer
A little Splash Park fun for a birthday party!
end of Summer
Family Bowling Night.
end of Summer
My father in law {right} hadn’t bowled in 30 years. He got a strike and OMG you couldn’t tell him nothing. We laughed all night long.
end of Summer
Nori is in the background afraid to have fun. She had a fit to come to the beach but doesn’t like sand in her toes. Her aqua socks didn’t help her either. We had to convince her to get this far. You can’t tip-toe across the sand, it just doesn’t work. She also doesn’t like walking in the grass even with her sneakers on.
end of Summer
Nori has warmed up to the sand, but look at her toes. She isn’t 100% in yet. lol
end of Summer
The gang is all here! Party of 4 on lines 1-4
end of Summer
Look who isn’t afraid, my girl is all in. Jumping mini-waves and having the time of her life.
end of Summer
Mother daughter fun in this cold water. That running is paying off!
end of Summer
She is always giving someone the side eye, even her brother.
end of Summer
1… 2… 3… JUMP!
end of Summer
1… 2… 3… JUMP! Even in our mid 30’s we got ups.
end of Summer
What is a trip to the beach without sand castles? Nori loves the sand now and didn’t want to leave. We will likely have this same experience the next time. lol
end of Summer
What’s a trip to Ocean City, MD without the sand sculptures?
end of Summer
This really cool old guy made the kids balloon pets. Nasir had a squirrel and Nori had a poodle.
end of Summer
The Mirror Maze was a lot of fun. So much fun they needed a candy break after.
end of Summer
I let them do the Mirror Maze first while I did the Chrisette Michele interview. Then I did the call while inside the Mirror Maze. The show must go on and the fun doesn’t stop.
end of Summer
This girl loves the Go Karts just as much as her Dad and brother.
end of Summer
I went once and then just snapped pics of them. lol
end of Summer
After a long week of family fun we managed to get in some chill time.
end of Summer

Then I wrapped it all up with some much needed Mi time.

This post is just too adorable! Love the jumping family pics. Both of my kids were like Nori, not here for the sand. These days we are winding down as well. Just preparing for school.

Thanks Adanna, hahaha Nori is so particular about some everyday things. She might me a little OCD at 2. lol If so she certainly got it honest from mi. I feel you, school started today for my son.

That jump picture of you and the Mr. is everything. whoever captured that was on point!

The sand sculpture surely reminds me of my days growing up in Maryland. We always found our way to Ocean City in the summer and Rehobeth beach. Oh to be you again.

We’ve been back in school 3 weeks already so wishing y’all a good Back to School week!

Mimi oddly enough my 9 year old took the picture. I haven’t been to O.C. much as an adult but like you I have great childhood memories. OMG 3 weeks already, today was our first day. Thanks for the well wishes.
