Ripley’s Believe It or Not Winter Break Fun

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Like many of you my kids are still on Winter Break. We had an amazing time in Deep Creek during week one and I totally overdosed on The Wire series. We are on week two and I need to do something with them; I love my babies to pieces but being home with them for 2 solid weeks is a bit much.

Thanks to Ripley’s Believe It or Not we received complimentary tickets to visit their Baltimore Harbor location. If your children are like mine then they love to touch. Luckily several of the exhibits at Ripley’s encourages them to touch. That means less fussing with the kids about doing something that comes natural.

My soon to be 3 year old loved this little car because it was her size. She wasn’t a fan of a lot of things here as she thought they were a bit scary. {Whispers} Thank God the little people get in free. However she did manage find a few favorites.

They are big fans of Transformers so this extra big Bumblebee was real dope.

We love everything Princess Diana so this diamond pearl tiara that she actually wore was really cool. I mean don’t we all think we are princesses anyway?

My Babe rides bikes so we always look for anything motorcycle related. This funky ride on two wheels was made of woven wicker by artisans in Indonesia. Yes, just like the lawn chairs on your porch. lol

We aren’t Harry Potter fans but this Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizards made of matchsticks was really detailed.

Ripley's Believe It or Not 8

This Harry Potter is made of red and black licorice strings and was created by an artist in San Francisco. I clearly need to find my creative talents.

Speaking of hands on you typed your name into a machine and it would convert it to hieroglyphics. Then you could email it to yourself. Cute right? You know we all had to do it.

I’m not into coffins because well they are a bit creepy but this replica Pharaoh’s Coffin was really funky. It was made entirely of recycled car and motorcycle parts. While these exhibits are really fun they also give you a lot of history. Fun and education, WINNER!

Ripley's Believe It or Not 11

This was our absolute favorite part of the entire Ripley’s Odditorium. You step into this dark room and you see this big screen, you hear music and you bust a move. While you are doing that the screen is changing into funky patterns.

We aren’t afraid to have a good time. hahahaha

Admit it, you were grooving in your seat too.

Looks like fun! We’ve reached that point too and are headed into Dallas to check out the Perot Museum. My 10yo said “math and science? Ugh”. We’ll see!
