Corner Bakery Grilled Flats

Hey Cuties,

I am talking about food again, this time it's more healthy but still really good. Last week I attended a media event at Corner Bakery. Look any type of business can do a media event and when its food involved you best believe my face is in the place.  It has been crazy hot in the DMV area but Mother Nature was kind to us as we settled onto the patio of the Corner Bakery in Arlington, Virginia.

Natural Hairstyles for Kids

Hey Cuties,

Today I wanted to share some great natural hairstyles for kids. It's been a year since I posted about my daughters hair regime, you can read it HERE. The short story is cradle cap took most of her hair out and I've been growing it back. I wash her hair weekly and put it in a protective style for the week. Once the weekend hits I take her hair down and let her wear puff balls/ponytails to let it breathe.  Below are some of the styles I've done on her hair.  These styles can be done on a variety of textures and lengths of hair so don't be afraid to try them out if you like them. I learned to braid when I was a child so that comes easy for me. If you don't know how to cornrow I suggest trying out the two strand twist hairstyles.  I've included a tutorial on how to flat twist at the bottom.

Soy Garlic Chicken Stir Fry

Hey Cuties,

I posted a pic of my dinner on IG and had folks inquiring so I thought I would just write a post. So here we go, lately I've been in the kitchen cooking. Not sure what has become of me but I've always been more of an eater than a cooker. If I'd known this would end up on the blog or I would have taken better pictures of the process. I was just teasing my cousins with pics via text. I made Soy Garlic Chicken Stir Fry and it was really good. I didn't have a recipe to follow but I will tell you how I did it. I saw a baggie of mixed veggies in the grocery store a few weeks back and bought them. I had no idea what I was going to do with them but I now owned them.

Happy Father’s Day Babe

Hey Cuties,

Father's Day is this weekend, and I hope you are ready to celebrate the Father's in your life. In 2004 my Babe and I became parents and Father's Day had a new meaning. Not only did I celebrate him I also celebrated the man that raised him. The ONLY thing I wanted in my child’s father was for him to be hands on; I got that and more. I was raised by a single parent so there weren't any Father's Day celebrations going on in my home.

Calling all Summer Ready Cuties!

Every year we say we are going to work on our summer bodies. We are going to do this by summer. Look like that by summer. Now let's be real, some of us just say it out of habit. Some of us actually take action and others of us pray without taking action. As Mom's this list is ten times longer. We are worried about our stretch marks, the extra weight we've gained. The girls don't quite sit up like they used to. We would feel cuter if... We would look better if. Bump all of that embrace YOU as YOU are at this very moment.

Miami Eats

Hey Cuties,

How was your weekend?  Mine was just what I needed. My Hike It Mama event took place on Saturday morning and it was an amazing good time. I will recap that on the blog later this week. After that I laid around and laid around some more. Yes on Saturday and Sunday, this body got the rest of a lifetime. Shout out to everyone that left a comment on my Anxiety post last week. The feedback was so amazing I genuinely appreciate it. Here is a recap from my much needed cousin-cation in South Beach, Miami.
