This body in a 2 piece #MySwimsuitStyle

Calling all Summer Ready Cuties!

Every year we say we are going to work on our summer bodies. We are going to do this by summer. Look like that by summer. Now let’s be real, some of us just say it out of habit. Some of us actually take action and others of us pray without taking action. As Mom’s this list is ten times longer. We are worried about our stretch marks, the extra weight we’ve gained. The girls don’t quite sit up like they used to. We would feel cuter if… We would look better if. Bump all of that embrace YOU as YOU are at this very moment.

My swimsuit story: I am 35.5 years old; I have a 10 year old son and a 3 year old daughter. I’ve been comfy in my relationship for 11 years now.  In my younger days I could go bra-less and the girls were in place. I wore crop tops because my stomach was good and flat. Now when I lay down, the girls lay down too and my flat stomach isn’t so flat. Those cute little lines on my thighs really say my kid’s names.

My body isn’t what it used to be, but it is still my body.  The older I get the less I care about a lot of things and people’s opinions. Don’t get me wrong I want a big natural butt, a good lift up top, nice thighs and a stomach with at least a 4 pack. We all have a vision of the “dream body”.

Truth of the matter is I love food, if you read my blog then you know how I get down. I’m happy, I’m healthy, I exercise here and there, and I still enjoy my grub. My kids love me as I am and my Babe still thinks I’m sexy.  I’m sure you kids love you as you are. They see you as Mommy not your imperfections, why don’t we see ourselves for the amazing women we are and not our imperfections.

This campaign forces us to step outside of our box and I love that.  No one will die if you show a little skin, promise!

Summer is almost officially here and I have several swimsuits that are ready to be worn. I can’t wait to run around with my Babe and our kids on the beach.  I can’t forget those must have fries and popcorn that I insist on having.  They love me for me; shouldn’t I love me as I am too?

I’ve teamed up with #MySwimsuitStyle challenge to promote self-LOVE not self-loathing with María José Ovalle of Very Busy Mamá and sponsor Miraclesuit.

Okay Cuties, now it’s your turn to join me and my fellow Blogger Cuties in this challenge. Simply post a picture on FB, Twitter and or Instagram and use #MySwimsuitStyle throughout the week. You don’t have to be a blogger to participate.

Remember this is about loving and embracing who we are and what that new or not so new shape looks like. This is NOT a Debbie-Downer type of thing.

Are you comfortable in your swimsuit?  Are you willing to put your “fears” aside and wear it anyway?

You look FABULOUS. I LOVE that suit on you!! Just beautiful!

  2. Tyra

I love that suit and your confidence. You are right, we impose these restrictions on ourselves. No one will die if the tummy isn’t perfect!

  3. Tamiko

    You look amazing. Cute swimsuits.

  4. Patrice

You sure could have fool me ….Working the runway like that lol.

  5. Robin Rue (@massholemommy)

I always sport a bikini at the beach. I always figure that if people don’t like what they see – they can look elsewhere 😉

  6. Kita

Alright now. I am not comfortable in a swimsuit as of yet. I gotta get rid of this stomach and then I will be good but I did put on one recently for the first time in about 5 years so that was a big step.

  7. Stacie @ Divine Lifestyle

I’m a one piece kind of girl. I actually only recently found one that I’m 100% comfortable in. It’s such a great feeling!

  8. Christy Maurer

That is such a cute suit! I agree! Embrace who you are and who cares what other people think! If you love your bathing suit, who cares if anyone else does or not.

  9. Jeanine

What a cute suit! you look amazing in it. If I had a body like yours I’d be wearing that suit all over town, not even kidding haha! I’m a one piece under a tee kinda mom sadly 🙁

  10. Treats by Tanya

If I had your figure, I would be sporting a bikini everyday! I love my body, birthing stretch marks and all, but I usually sport the skirted bathing suit to help hide some of my aged mommy cellulite 😉

    • MimiCuteLips

If you like the skirt then it is okay. If you’d rather show off some of your mommy cellulite then that is okay too. Those are battle scars and we all have some.

  11. Nicole (Nicole's Lifestyle Lounge)

I love this post! I was over here going yes, yes and amen! LOL

  12. Sandy KS

I must say you look great in a two piece. You do pull it off nicely. Not this old body of mine. If I do a two piece, it is a cover up to piece that looks like a skirt. To hide my stomach.

    • MimiCuteLips

Thanks Sandy. Cover ups are okay if that is what you want. I empower you to just rock your swimsuit without shame.

  13. Carly

you are ROCKING that suit girl! Love it.

  14. Laura Hinckley

You look amazing. I am a one piece type girl since I am not a sun worshiper I prefer to age gracefully 🙂
I love the suits though and think they are perfect for so many. I love that we no longer fear what we wear we choose what to wear 🙂 Go US!

  15. Bonnie @ wemake7

You look great! Unfortunately for myself I never wear bathing suits. I am way to overweight to do so. I was hoping that by this Summer I could but never made it to my goal.

    • MimiCuteLips

Bonnie they make swimsuits for all sizes. Don’t miss out on the great memories with your family because you aren’t your perfect size. They love you as you are.

  16. Stacie

I’m definitely a tankini girl at the pool. I have a large tummy that I just assume hide. I love myself for sure, but would probably never wear a bikini. Too much gut!

  17. Alli

I always wear a tankini. Now, if I looked as good as you do in a bikini, I’d wear one in a heartbeat. I’m just more comfortable in a tankini.

  18. Liz Mays

This is an awesome campaign! Being comfortable in one’s own skin is so important. We should all be able to relax at the beach!

  19. Nancy (@spiffykerms)

I don’t know what I’m afraid of. But I feel really uncomfortable wearing a bikini in public. I need to just rock it I think.

  20. Ourfamilyworld

You look gorgeous. I know I should be comfortable with my body, but I just don’t have the guts to wear a bikini.

  21. Nicole Brewer

Werk it girl!! For some reason, I’m self conscious about wearing a 2 piece that doesn’t cover my tummy (and it’s not That big lol). I need to just do it! I typically wear tank-kinis lol.

  22. Joanne T Ferguson

What a great bikini to accentuate your curves! I think we all just need to spend more time in loving the bodies we all are in!

  23. michele d

Love the colors on your bathing suit. I’m a tankini kinda girl. I love my two pieces as well. One piece suits just don’t do it for me.

  24. lisa @bitesforbabies

That is such a cute bikini and I think you look great! Us moms need to embrace our beauty, even post-kids 😉

  25. Nancy

This is an amazing campaign! What a great way to promote self love, by the way you look fab!

  26. Heather @mommyonlyhas2hands

Wow, you’re so sexy and gorgeous, I love the color of your swimsuit, I wish I can get one too.

  27. Aisha Johnson Adams

Girl you are working that swimsuit…

  28. Chris G

I don’t wearing bathing suits myself of course because I’m a man but I’m one that doesn’t show my legs to much either.

  29. Holly

I really like this. I still feel like I need to get the stepping on working out though. I am going to work on that a bit lol. Summer came to fast.

  30. Lynndee

I have worn a one piece swimsuit, but I haven’t tried wearing a two piece yet. But I am willing to put my fears aside once my husband decides to take me to a beach soon. 😉

  31. Raijean

Alright girl…looking good! I’m working on trying to get my body ready for a two-piece.

  32. Carin Kilby Clark

You are looking damn good in that 2-piece girl! I’m loving this challenge and all the people who are stepping out of their comfort zones to share and encourage others. It’s a wonderful thing!

    • MimiCuteLips

Thanks Carin, I had a blast checking out the other ladies. I’m all about empowering one another to love the skin they are in.

  33. Mirand (myrbev)

your confidence is definitely admirable! Keep it up Hun! You look so good in that swimsuit! I definitely feel more empowered after reading this post!
Am not going to worry so much about my lumps and bumps and just live a little

  34. Uplifting Families

You look beautiful in that swim suit. I need to get a new swim suit. Unfortunately, I’ve gained weight because of my lack of activities. I have fibromyalgia and chronic back pain that makes exercise painful. It’s a difficult balance because exercise is good for you but at the same time you can’t over do it.

  35. Josselyne

You look great, no words! Its also the confidence that oozzes out 🙂 I cant even participate. I went to beach and wore one. Its the girls.. they are no longer girls..they are…hmm.. well.. not what I want them to be. lol. BUT I hope the challenge is a success indeed 🙂

    • MimiCuteLips

Josselyne, you are hilarious but I so get it. I empower you to rock the swimsuit of your choice with the skin that you are in.

  36. Ann Bacciaglia

You look amazing in this swim suit. It is so important to be comfortable in your own skin.

  37. Chubskulit Rose

You look gorgeous. I love swimsuit that covers my flab tummy hehehe. Speaking of which I need to get me a pair for the summer.

  38. Kelly Hutchinson

I am about 100 pounds overweight, so I am just not there with being comfortable in a swimsuit. I admire you for rocking it like a star.

    • MimiCuteLips

Kelly, I hope you are able to get to a place of comfort. Even if you aren’t the size you want to me. We all have things we would like to change. The goal of the challenge is to push past those things.

  39. Jessica Simms

Wow you look fabulous! I love your confidence, I need to learn how to have more of that so I can actually wear a two piece this summer. I’ve talked myself out of it for so many years I need to just bite the bullet and do it.

  40. Rosey

That suit really does look great on you. You are rocking it too.

  41. Michelle @ Dishes and Dust Bunnies

I really like the style of your bathing suit! It’s been a while since I’ve had the confidence to put on a bathing suit but maybe someday!

  42. Jacqui Odell

What a cute swimming suit. I love the yellow in it.

  43. Carly Brydon

You look absolutely amazing in your swimsuit! I love that you’re promoting loving your body!

  44. Alysia from My Domestic Dish

Holy shit! You look fantastic! Gah, you’re so right though….motherhood definitely changes things :/
I need to learn to love my body again but, until that time, I take comfort knowing that other Mamas are still looking fantastic, providing some fitspiration and representing the hot Moms well 😛

  45. Peachy @ The Peach Kitchen

Oh you look just great in that swimsuit! It’s the perfect Summer color. I love how you are promoting self love..

  46. Kira

Great campaign and you look amazing. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learnt to accept my body as is. I’ve two girls so it’s important for me to lead by example by showing self love.

    • MimiCuteLips

Yes Kira, our girls are watching us. We have to show them that is it okay to not feel perfect but don’t be shame.

  47. Maria Jose @verybusymama

Seriously girl you are WORKING it! Now THIS is self confidence!! Love everything about this and that teeny but very LOUD bikini! xoxo

  48. Leslie

Girl, you are in great shape.  I don’t have any kids but I’m avoiding the beach this summer.

  49. Vashti (

You are working it Mimi! I love any campaign that supports body confidence.

  50. kristin

Nobody is perfect, even those who think others are. All that matters is that we love ourselves, and that our families love us too! Great post.
