The Biggest Comeback

Hey Cuties,

I worked The Biggest Comeback Event over the weekend, I’m talking 32 hours in two days. Add in 8 hours of sleep and that was me. I was a bit exhausted but I loved every minute of it. In a former life I did meeting planning and I absolutely loved it. It’s been years since I’ve had a chance to do an event but I never lost my mojo.  I picked up right where I left off and it felt good. I think I might be on to something folks. Remember THIS.

This event was a very intense two day event filled with amazing speakers. Some of the speakers were in the room and others were online. You could attend in person or watch the entire event via a live stream. They had all options available okay. I was working so I couldn’t sit in on all the speakers but three of them in particular left a lasting impression on me.

Kim Coles

Kim Coles

If you are a Wendy Williams fan like I am then you know what the term “Friend in my Head” means. For those that don’t it’s someone you’ve never met but totally believe you would hit it off and be friends if given the opportunity. Mrs. Kim Coles {McKiver} was a friend in my head, I watched her play Synclaire James-Jones on the hit 90’s show Living Single. She is sweet and funny just like Synclaire. If you are really good like me then you also remember her from In Living Color.

Kim Coles Reggie McKiver

Mr. & Mrs. Mckiver

Kim is a newlywed, I’m talking only married a month newlywed. She and her groom Reggie McKiver both spoke at the conference. They are a perfect pair, both very genuine, very loving to one another and just down to earth type of people. I loved that about them. Make no mistake they are about their business of living their truth and helping others. I see really big things for them in the future, they complement one another very well.  “Favor isn’t fair.” – R. Mckiver

Kim Coles Reggie McKiver

Kim & I

After Reggie & Kim left the stage they took pictures, spoke to their fans and Reggie did some one on one sessions. These sessions are deep, Reggie is into holistic healing. My Sister and I had the pleasure of helping them sign folks up to participate in their six week Gratitude Passion Success {GPS} session.  Everyone in Hollywood isn’t kind, but these two were total sweethearts. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have met and worked with them. “Woo Woo Woo” – K. Coles Fun Fact: Kim’s mom used to say “woo woo woo” to her when she was a child. She said it during the filming of Living Single and they absolutely love it.” hahahahaha

Kim was raw and honest with us about her journey in life. It wasn’t all Gucci & Gold, she had some everyday hardship many of us are experiencing, have experienced or will experience. I respect her truth and I’m empowered to always tell mine. As she talked about her gift and us finding and using our gift my heart skipped a beat. You know I keep talk about my purpose. This put things in perspective for me.

Lucinda Cross

Lucinda Cross was really good and she was fly. I love to hear peoples story and yeah hers is unbelievable. I will only say that she got started by creating Vision Boards. She has been in Essence, New York Post, on The Today Show and several other places. I will be using her technique for my vision boards going forward. I’m not dreaming big enough. Google her to find out more.

Cheryl Wood

Cheryl Wood – @Cherylempowers

Cheryl Wood set my soul on fire. She told us the importance of investing in yourself. Work hard now and kick your feet up later. Grind for your own dream. Don’t just dabble but DOMINATE! God will take your gift away if you don’t use it.  Your story is power and it’s your truth. Tell it without shame. “Don’t wait on someone to make your dream a reality.” – C. Wood

Event Co-Host Trevor Otts – Speaker: Kim Coles – Co-Host: Che Brown

Shout out to Trevor Otts and Che Brown for putting on an amazing event. The two of them are like Batman & Robin, no really they are. They need a Hollywood name, you know that when you combine two names into one. Theirs would be something like Chevor or Chet or Tre’. hahahaha These two have corner the market when it comes to Sales, Marketing and  Motivational Speaking. It’s rather impressive to watch, but they always leave you wanting to be better.

I think my passion is coming into view. Stay tuned for more on this. I will stop obsessing over it now.

I didn’t want to post a link in my comment (I hate when people do that to me) but I have met Kim several times and when I finally met her in person and she was no longer just ‘the friend in my head’ that made me all kinds of happy. I got to see her one woman show when it came to NYC which happened to fall on my Mom’s birthday so I brought her along, and I have a photo with her, and she signed a card to my mom wishing her a happy birthday which I thought was super sweet of her! I also got to see her at a Natural Hair event held in here NYC as well.

(Tell me I’m not the only one who starts singing “Don’t Call It A Comeback, I’ve been here for years!” every time I read or hear the word!? LOL) 🙂
