Getting Santa Ready with My Girl

Hey Cuties,

Christmas is next week and the excitement is increasing. The kids are still asking for things, they want to decorate everything, and the little one keeps asking if Christmas is tomorrow. Meanwhile I’m trying to buy Babe gifts and hide them around the house. I’m excited and tired at the same time, gift giving is so important to me. I always want my gift to be the best gift you’ve ever had, no matter the occasion. Is Santa real, he is in my book.

My oldest is 11 and he no longer believes in Santa. Some jerk at school ruined it for him when he was 8. My little is only three and we believe right along with her. Listen you can feel how you want about Santa but I firmly believe in providing the magic for my kids. They have a lifetime of adult worry as kids they will get the magic. The magic in our home goes something like this…

We decorate our tree and place empty Santa sacks underneath.

Our tree may appear to be leaning a tad; I think the topper is a bit heavy for that Charlie Brown branch its on. My daughter will stand in front of it and give me the fakest smile possible. lol

You get caught up in the Pinterest game.

Babe won’t let me make our tree into one of those uber cute Christmas Dress trees I see on Pinterest so you make a mini version to fill the void. Cute right, I am the CRAFT QUEEN!

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Talk to Santa; all opinions are my own.

We did the Santa thing with our kids. My parents did it with me. I think it’s a harmless way to make some of the most magical, memorable moments in a child’s life.

  2. Liz Mays

I like your point about Santa. I think that’s why we did it too. It’s so sweet that your daughter was able to have a chat with Santa!

  3. Jeanette

We don’t do santa per se. There is a real story of St. Nicholas and that is what we celebrate as far as Santa goes.

  4. Chrystal | Nevermore Lane

The holiday lights are amazing. That is one of my favorite things about the holiday season. I love to see how people decorate their homes with lights and lawn ornaments.

I get to spend this Christmas with my two grandsons, ages 3-1/2 and 23 months. It is going to be so much fun having Santa around again! (You’re daughter is adorable!)

  6. Stacie

These pictures are gorgeous! LaShawn does have awesome tips doesn’t she!

My kids believe in Santa. I think of Santa as a perfect way to teach them to have faith in that which they cannot see. Plus, Santa is cool 🙂

  8. OurFamilyWorld

A Santa video call? That is way too cool! The girls will love this.

  9. lisa

These are all such fantastic pictures! I love this time of year. And getting a call from Santa is the coolest thing for the little ones!!

  10. Ann Bacciaglia

Talking to Santa would be so exciting for the kids. I love all the beautiful Christmas lights. We enjoy driving around to look at all the displays.

  11. Megan Elford

I love these pictures, they look great! I also love that you’re keeping the magic of Christmas alive for your youngest and enjoying it along with her 🙂

  12. Tyra

I love the idea of providing magic for kids. It’s important. My parents took a unique approach. They told us there was a santa but said that they gave him the money for the gifts (so we wouldn’t believe an old white guy provided us with presents and our blessings). LOL

  13. Staci

I love the personalize Santa chat and the zoo pictures are great!!

  14. Ty

My Lil guy isn’t so little anymore, so we don’t do all the fun stuff like Talking to Santa but I love the traditions you are making and your daughter is a cutie.

  15. Jamila

Nice photos, I love the excitement during time of year. I don’t have any kids, but I grew up believing in Santa.

  16. Lynndee

Going to a light show is always fun and we have one here that has animals too. Love those photos you took.

  17. lisa @bitesforbabies

I have yet to do the Santa thing with my kids! They actually don’t want to go and see him, lol!

  18. Nicole

So adorable aww!! I think it’s ok to let your kids believe in Santa. This world is so crazy, a little bit of fantasy goes a long way in preserving that childhood innocence.

  19. Bonnie @wemake7

Your daughter is so cute. =) My kiddos are getting pretty excited for Christmas too. I love all those different lights and love your tree too!

My 9 year old son has stopped believing in Santa, but my 3 year old daughter believes in him. I will not tell her any different, because a kid is only a kid once! 🙂

I think Santa is fun for kiddos! I actually have ages friends who are so against it since its “lying” to your kids, but Coke on…. It’s all harmless fun. Love all of your pics 🙂

Getting ready for the holidays can be rough. It seems like you are more prepared than me so no worries!

Crystal, every year I say I’m going to be on top of it. I do purchase early but our tree ends up going up a week before Christmas. I still need to wrap which I will start tonight.
