Kicking … and taking names. Hello 2016

Happy Hump Day!  My schedule says we are back at work, but my body hasn’t gotten the memo yet.  I shared my year in review with you and the reception made me feel like a rock star.  Now I want to share my 2016 with you. Buckle up, you know for safety, don’t touch the radio but by all means do enjoy these jams. It’s a new year but I’m the same Cutie, just turning up on these dreams.  I’m sharing them with you because you’re my cuties; and you will keep me accountable.

MIND:

Word: ACTION: noun 1. the process or state of acting or of being active. 2. something done or performed; act; deed. 3. an act that one consciously wills and that may be characterized by physical or mental activity.

Encouragement: I’ve printed up a bunch of action quotes to put in my work space at the 9 to 5 and my home office.

Book: I’m kicking off my year with Shonda Rhymes year of Yes. I’ve heard amazing things about this book and so it’s on right that it makes me amazing too.

BODY:

Fitness: Father God HELP ME! Exercise 3 times a week. I got the Shaun T. Cize dance workout DVDs for Christmas {per my request}

Beverages: Make soda a weekly treat and drink 35 oz. of water a day.

Hair: This may seem like nothing to most but to someone who loves to be bald headed this is a tough one. I’m a serial cutter when it comes to my hair. I grew my hair out after I had my daughter {she turns 4 next week} then post par-tum shedding turned into my entire frontal hairline falling out. I mean because who needs that. {insert major side eye} Document my journey for accountability.

Newsletter: Be consistent with my automated process.

Event: Host my first event.

Trademark: Get my legal affairs all the way in order.

Marking: Market my MimiCuteLips T-shirt line

Family: Spend more valuable quality time.

HOME:

Office Space: Continue to perfect my office space

Clutter: Constantly get rid of things we don’t want or need.

Decorate: We’ve yet to full decorate our home, six years later. This year we are going to do that.

Good luck on all of the goals you have set for this year! This year, I want to continue to livelifewell and to be well dressed, well educated, and well traveled by practicing quality over quantity in terms of adding to my wardrobe, finishing my graduate school classes, and traveling to a continent I’ve never been to. If I had to pick one word for the year, it would be balance because I want to find balance in all aspects of my life. I look forward to seeing what 2016 has in store for both of us.

    LiveLifeWell,
    Allison

    • MimiCuteLips

That is amazing Allison, I so love that. Finding a healthy balance is always something I’m trying to improve. All the best to both of us for sure.

  2. Esther @ The Cuteness

These are all awesome goals! I totally related on post-partum hair loss, I had it BAD. And I’m a few weeks away from having another baby, so we’ll see how this goes… I’m going to work with my dr. this time to make sure my hormones are more balanced. I was total trainwreck after baby #1!

  3. Cara (@StylishGeek)

You look gorgeous in that attire Mimi! And that skirt…oh! To die for! Love how simple your list is for the new year! Good luck to you! 🙂

  4. Travel Blogger

That is a great list for the New Year! Good luck to you and tackling 2016.

  5. Jaime Nicole

Yes, get that house decorated! We have been in ours for a couple of years and we still need to do this – sometimes you just have to take a little time to get to know the house!

  6. Jeanette Brewster

Great list and Goals! I was feeling your pain about the post-partum hair shedding. Mine was really bad so I chopped all my hair off, too. My husband thought I was being spiteful. LOL! So glad its growing back. My Word for 2016 is Consistency! Everything I went through last year to get me to this mindset, I just want to be consistent in making forward progress in every area of my life. You have a lovely family BTW! Here’s to a Great 2016!

    • MimiCuteLips

Jeanette lol @ out of spite. Men don’t understand how powerful our hormones are sometimes. We have no control.

Consistency is an excellent word, cheers to sticking to it.

  7. Jenn @ EngineerMommy

These are great goals for 2016. I’m always trying to drink more water too. And spending more quality time with my family is a goal for sure!

  8. Jenny

I feel ya. My body and brain are still on holiday break 🙂 And omg I’m having so many issues typing this right now. Yay tired!! Good luck with your goals though. I have a few of my own but I don’t know if I’ll get anywhere with them xD

  9. Jenn

  10. Chantal

These are great goals you have set for yourself! I am also going to read the Shonda Rhymes books you talked about – I love all of her work.

  11. Stephanie of The TipToe Fairy

I’m glad you’ve got such great plans! I do not have a word of the year. I’m just continuing what I always work on. And I love that skirt!

  12. Jasmine Watts

These sounds like a great balanced set of 2016 goals. Wish you good-luck to achieve all your goals!!

  13. Sara

I Love your goals! Especially the hair. Lady, don’t I know! I have been growing mine for 15 months now, per my husbands request {he actually said I wish I could twirl your long hair around my fingers….}I want to cut it so badly! I miss my short hair that was so much easier to style!
I will be back to read about your progress! This year I only set one goal- to be present. To be all in no matter what I am doing, to not let my phone distract me from the moment.

    • MimiCuteLips

Oh Sara we are >>><<< here girl. Babe has been asking me and I've not done it. Short is quick and easy for sure. In 2016 a goal of being present is HUGE!!!!

  14. Ickle Pickle

Good luck! I am setting up a home office area for me – I need a corner so I can be more organised for 2016! Happy New Year! Kaz 🙂

  15. Anosa

What amazing goals you have set for yourself, I just love how you have broken them down into categories this is awesome. I need to check out Shonda Rhymes’ book so I can have a read too.

  16. Michele D

I love your list of goals. I’m not one for announcing my goals although I hope to reach higher than last year. Reaching out to brands directly is on my list.

    • MimiCuteLips

Thanks Michele, this is a first for me. Once I put something out there it helps me remain accountable and I so need that right now.
That is an excellent goal, I’m working on that this year too.

  17. Crystal

My word is home. We moved to take care of a relative and it turned into a nightmare. I’m waiting on my new home to come through.

  18. Mommy Pehpot
