Ten Management Tips for the Busy Woman {Mazda CX 3 Grand Touring}

Hey Cuties,

How are ya? I’ve been busy the last half of the month, and May is shaping up to be even crazier. This is the life we live and we don’t mind; it isn’t always this way. As the kids get older they have more activities than we do. People frequently ask HOW DO YOU DO IT ALL? The short answer is I don’t; if I’m amazing at one thing something somewhere is suffering. I’m certain that my floor boards are dusty, the ceiling fans too, and several other things. I’m going to get a Groupon for that… more on that in another post.

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Drive Shop & Mazda; all opinions are my own.

Ten Management Tips for the Busy Woman

Start off by knowing that Organization is key! Let me say that again ORGANIZATION IS KEY!!!

Tip #1 SCHEDULE: I told y’all I was OCD so that can make things easier for me because I’m wired this way or complicate things because I’m wired this way. I rely on Google Calendar if it breaks tomorrow so does my life; seriously. I share it with Babe so we know what is going on at all times. It also helps planning future activities; we can see if a certain date and time are free to schedule something.  Did I mention that is was color coded? Go ahead, getcho life. Color that thang on up, business, son, daughter, Babe and personal all have respective colors on the calendar.

Tip #2 PREPARATION THE NIGHT BEFORE: Yes prepare the night/days before. This can look a variety of ways so make it the way you need it to be. For me on Sundays is laundry day; my Man-child is old enough {11} to manage his own laundry. I make him wash up all of his clothes and then iron up a weeks’ worth of school uniforms. In turn I iron up my clothes and my toddlers clothes the night before. There is no time to be fussing, fighting over what to wear. If lunch needs to be made or snacks or items for daycare get those together too.

When she wakes up she dresses herself.

Tip #3 SET A TIMER/ALARM: If you are like me then you always think you have enough time to get ready later. Or clean up something, or do a load of laundry or lay in the bed longer. NO, in fact you don’t have enough time. I set alarms on my phone that go off every 15 minutes. Each one has a message too and they are cute.  This is how my mornings flow during the school year.

Tip #4 LIVE IN THE MOMENT: With everything based, referenced and connected to social media sometimes we forget to simply live in the moment. As a blogger I have to remind myself of this sometimes. With life moving so fast and us being so busy we forget to LIVE IN THE MOMENT. Don’t read a magazine at your kids next practice just be in the moment. Before you know {s}he will be headed off to college. I know it seems so far away until it isn’t. Have a family movie night, we do this a lot with the kids. They get to stay up late and be silly. {Weekends & holidays} It feels good to just bond and connect with the family. Note that cute outfit Okay! Note that feeling, the view, the smell, whatever just wallow or strut in that moment.

Oh, she cute!

Tip #5 CREATE ME TIME: If you aren’t at your best then your family can’t be at their best. If you are running on fumes you have nothing to give anyone else. Make time for YOU doing what YOU enjoy doing without the MR/MRS/KIDS. You define what that is, just know it is a chance to go dark on the world and do something you love. It doesn’t have to be a weekend getaway although that is nice. It can be a book, a glass of wine or a bowl of ice cream you don’t have to share. For me it was girl time.

Tip #6 THERE IS AN APP FOR THAT: I told you that I believe in outsourcing some of this parenting/adulting {the act of being an adult} life.  Weather, Traffic, Coupons, Banking, Fitness, Calendar, Parking, Eating, etc. They have an app for everything. Work smarter and not as hard.  Almost everyone has a smart phone these days, allow it to make you great.

Tip #7 HAVE FUN: Do something so silly that it makes you giggle like a school girl. Have a photo shoot in the parking lot of the mall like nobody can see you. Perform songs like you are live on stage while riding in your car. My family forces me to have fun, even when I don’t have time for it or don’t feel like it. I’ve yet to regret giving in.

Tip #8 IT TAKES A VILLAGE: Parenting wasn’t designed to be done alone.  Babe and I are one hell of a team. You see our calendar up there; we are alike enough for it to work and opposite enough to not be perfect. Every now and again we have to roll a grandparent or two in the mix to help us get it done. We might reach out to a brother or sister to help pull it together. Your village may not look like mine and that is okay. Just know that you shouldn’t be doing it alone and we don’t expect you to do it alone.

You can ride shot gun.

Tip #9 PACE YOURSELF: Parenting is a marathon not a sprint. Pace yourself, steady your stride instead of trying to be the first out of the gate. {I sound deep right?} Seriously if you are like me then you put too much pressure on yourself. You get frustrated when you don’t meet your self-imposed demands. WELL LOOK A HERE SELF! Life is a marathon not a sprint. It took us years before we could read and write and do the arithmetic {Some of us still struggle} yet we expect to be perfect at everything. Don’t get it twisted I am amazing and so are you but we are human. If you don’t slow down the universe will put you flat on your back. In an uncontrolled time out you are team too much right now.

Tip #10 MEAL PLAN: I recently started meal planning and it saves time, frustration and starvation.  You can make the decision on your own or ask the family what they would like. I plan for three meals a week. I browse Pinterest or MimiCuteLips for ideas and you can too. I make my grocery list in my notes app and list out the ingredients needed for my recipes.

Plenty of truck space for my meals.

The Mazda CX 3 Grand Touring is a really cute car. At no point did my family of four get in this ride at one time. We simply wouldn’t fit comfortably. This is the perfect car for a teen starting out, a college student, a satisfied single or a city dweller. If you are in a major city with terrible traffic like us in DC; this would be the perfect car to drive to work daily.  It is compact enough to get the good parking spots too.  The handling is amazing, you can take a curb with style and grace. The Grand Touring is the top of the Mazda CX 3 series.  The gas is freaking amazing; it goes the distance as I was all over the place in this ride. I put $3 worth of gas in it {don’t judge me} and it gave me 45 miles. SCORE! If I had room for a third vehicle this would totally be it.
