PRSVR RespectDC Grand Opening {Event Recap}

Hey Cuties,

I had a full weekend; I’m talking all kinds of full. I covered an event on Friday and Saturday; the Saturday event was kid friendly so I took my girl. The boys hung out at the National Science & Engineering Festival. Oh and we went to a Shoe Tying Class, I told y’all about that.  I also decided to pay the kids when I need them to work for MimiCuteLips. I’ll call them, paid interns of such; nothing crazy but a payment. This means I get all the photo opportunities I need and they will give me their opinions/feedback when necessary.  I don’t believe in paying for chores so this is a way for them to earn a coin. EARN is the keyword here.

Respect DC PRSVR

This weekend Chicago Street Style came to the Nation’s Capital.  PRSVR opens a new Lifestyle Boutique in Washington, DC right in the Shepherd Park neighborhood. {7610 Georgia Avenue NW. Washington, DC 20012} The name PRSVR stands for Persevere, but it is more than that; it is an acronym for Passion, Resilience, Sacrifice, Values, and Respect.  One of the things I love the most about them is that the store will feature one-of-a-kind pieces from minority and independent designers.  This includes clothing, artwork, luggage and footwear. I live for one of a kind pieces, I don’t want to end up twinning with someone else at an event.

As a fashionable Mommy I like to style Babe and the kids.  The dope thing is PRSVR has clothes for all of us. *Body Roll* I love a one stop shop.

PRSVR Respect DC owners Margaret & Brandong Williamson

Margaret, Brandon, Jr. {B2} & Brandon Williamson

BACK STORY: PRSVR is run by a husband and wife team, yaaassssss! Brandon {CEO} and Margaret Williamson {Brand Manager}. They are all about stylish yet functional pieces; that totally speaks to my style.  PRSVR has been in the game for four years now but they have a list of heavy hitters under their belt. Such as Kevin Durant – Basketball Star,  Zendaya – Actress/Singer, Nicki Minaj – Hip Hop Artist, Chris Brown – Hip Hop Artist and Featured on the hit show Empire, they’ve even been in a McDonald’s commercial and several major publications.

Friday night I met up with The Style Medic just in time to hit PRSVR for the Slayed Presentation of Style for Spring.  I mean duh she is fashion, this is fashion it was a date.

PRSVR Respect DC grand opening Dusse sponsor

D’USSE™ was a dope sponsor

We were greeted with cupcakes and cocktails. #FatSnacks on deck, oh you know I was in the right place. I’m not much of a drinker outside of wine but I don’t want to be a rude guest.

PRSVR Respect DC store manager

MimiCuteLips, Marcus {Store Manager} & The Style Medic

The lovely Marcus told us all about the PRSVR brand. He works in the DC shop and a lot of fun. He is from the Baltimore area and went to school at F.I.T. Oh yes, the brother comes with style and credentials.

PRSVR Respect DC grand opening D'usse cupcakes

Salted Caramel Cupcakes infused with D’usse™ cognac

I love me a cupcake but these are over the top.  They were so good I put one in my ice cream; you know because I’m committed to these #FatSnacks.

D’usse™ on Doubles: Salted Caramel Ice Cream Infused with D’usse™ VSOP Cognac topped with a D’usse™ Drizzle

This right here was the stone cold truth; I’m talking pure deliciousness in a cup.  You could taste the cognac but it wasn’t overbearing; very smooth and classy like.

Fashion Show

We are fashion show ready and the models were ready to show us what they were working with. Some pieces are top to bottom PRSVR and others are a pairing of PRSVR with items you get from some of your favorite stores.  I love to mix high end with low end pieces; it is the best way to maximize my wardrobe.  Belting her sweatshirt on the far right gave it a cleaner look and a nice pop of color.

Dear God, I want to wear crop tops too.

I love pieces that I can switch up. Some of these pieces are great for summer, but you can flip them for fall if you layer them up. They are a more urban style but you can change them up to reflect your own personal style.

Nudes are in.

The line shown was a mixture of prints, and textures, I also liked all of the nude footwear to go with it.

The stylist himself… #SlayedbyDutch @dutchtheomen

Young and talented, this hot pink leather though. Y’all know hot pink is my color.

Packed House

The house is packed all the way out. I spy James {PRSVR Brand Ambassador} and his adorable cutie. She is a little boss in the making.

My goodies, my goodies, my goodies…

PRSVR and D’usse certainly know how to treat a lady. They sent me home with a dope bottle of their cognac and this PRSVR Stash Box. All kinds of classy I tell you, all kinds.

SATURDAY: Day II was all about the kids; Squad Up: A Pop Up BBQ for Cool Kids and their Parents. We dined on some homemade mac & cheese, potato salad, juice boxes, fruit, grilled burgers, dogs and chicken.

The kids clothing line B2 by PRSVR

The B2 clothing line was so cute. I had to purchase Nori a shirt. They also have a two piece set that I want for her so bad. She grows so fast that I’m worried she won’t get much wear out of it. #decisions

Nori’s Strawberry soiree Whimsicle pop  IG: @_whimsicle TWTR: @mywhimsicle

Whimsicle was in the building on Saturday, they had the desserts taken care of.  They make all natural gourmet fruit pops; you can enjoy a frozen treat without the guilt.

Fast friends…

She hung out with store owners Margaret & Brandon’s son B2. He is enjoying the Whimsicle “Breakfast Bar”, it is a yogurt bar with Fruity Pebbles. YAASSSSS! He is  dressed down in his B2 by PRSVR; he is so cute.

Outside Fun {B3 cooking in the background}

They played, they ate, they played some more, they ate some more. We ended a great two day event with sidewalk chalk.  It was nice to hear the innocent giggles of children having a great time. I look forward to working with the dope folks over at PRSVR again.
