#FatSnacks Friday: Cupcakes in Ice Cream Cones

Happy Fat Snacks Friday Cuties,

It is our favorite day of the week at mimicutelips.com because *insert dramatic drum roll* IT IS FAT SNACKS FRIDAY! I’ve had this one on my virtual agenda for almost a year. July is National Ice Cream Month so this was sort of perfect. These are faux ice cream but it totally counts. Did you know that you could bake cupcakes in ice cream cones? Prior to this I so didn’t know that was even a thing. Listen I’ve got levels to all of this fatness.

What you need: Cake Mix, Ice Cream Cones {Sugar or Cake}, Cookie Sheet, Icing & toppings

Step 1: Make the Cake Mix

Step 1: Make your cake mix according to the box instructions. If you’re fancy then whip it up from scratch but you won’t get any bonus points for doing so.

Step 2: Put your cones in the stand

Step 2: Set up your ice cream cone bake stand, this one is make my Wilton Hack: If you use cake cones place cupcake liners in your muffin pan.  Stand one cone up per cavity and continue on to Step 4.

Step 3: Put your stand on a cookie sheet

Step 3: Put your ice cream cone stand under your stand. This will catch any overflow during the baking process. Skipping this step might burn your house down.

Step 4: Fill up your ice cream cones

Step 4: Now it is time to fill up your ice cream cones. According to the box it says to use 2TBS of mix per cone. #Fail That will have all kinds of spillage. I would say fill the cone 1/3 of the way, you can figure that measurement out on your own.

Step 5: Put them in the oven, I baked them according to the cupcake time guides on the box.

Step 6: Decorate

Step 6: While my cupcakes are baking in the oven I gathered some toppings. I used my Betty Crocker decorating kid to put the frosting on. Since I was going for the ice cream cone look I use vanilla frosting, chocolate frosting, rainbow sprinkles and cherries.

Step 7: Decorate your Cupcake Ice Cream Cones

Step 7: Decorate, I put my toppings on and they were ready to be eaten. My guest were pressing me out the entire time. Apparently they had a hard time waiting. Note: That might happen to you.

My cupcakes in ice cream cones were a total hit and super easy to make. I’m going to make more this weekend using sugar cones. I will post an update to let you know how they turn out.
