The calendar has pressed the wrap it up button on summer and I’m both annoyed and a bit excited. School starts in exactly twelve days and the family and I are soaking up the last of summer with a bit of a staycation. stay·ca·tionˌ (noun) a vacation spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions. I would love to say we are sleeping in late but we’ve got to get back in school mode. That means early mornings and days of fun things to do. Maybe we can squeeze in afternoon naps. I’m sure we will be worn out from all of the fun.
This is a sponsored post although all opinions are my own. You know we keep it real around here.
Babe and I have been tossing around several activities that we would like to do with the kids. We’ve obviously not told the kids because sanity; but going out as a family of four can be costly. With fun comes food, so you know I have to have my #FatSnacks. This is where Groupon comes into play, they have discounts for all of the things we’ve had in mind.
Activities to consider:
Zoo: I want to go and feed the animals so bad. This is clearly more about me then the kids. We’ve been a family of four for four years and we’ve yet to go to the zoo as a foursome. We’ve been with one kid; another kid has been on field trips but not the four of us.
Paint Pottery: Babe and I did this for a Valentine’s one year, like back in 2006. We still have our bowls we made. We had a great time, I’ve been back once with my son when he was little. Now that we have two kids I thought it would be a good time to visit again.
Trampoline Place: We recently went to a trampoline place with twenty-one friends, I told you about it and had a blast.
Moon Bounce Spot: This is an oldie but goodie, we discovered this place when my son was little. He was invited to a birthday party and we’ve been fans ever since. When Nori turned two we had a birthday party for her at a local one. They are great for all ages; during the week they have drop in play times and that is where the real savings are.
