I have the most magical experience ever to share with you. It was a Friday, and I was running around looking for white sneakers for my kids. I was making sure my son’s shirt matched his white shorts perfectly. I was looking for cute white socks for Little Cute Lips; the kids and I were getting ready for the District MotherHued‘s inaugural Mommy en Blanc.
Mommy en Blanc is a play on the ever-popular Diner en Blanc. Since this involved kids, the rules had to be relaxed a bit. You know, kids don’t want you to be great. The attire was white, the location was a secret, and you had to bring your own meal.
Mommies, strollers, and kiddies met up at the Department of Transportation Building and walked to the secret location. In tow are diaper bags and or picnic baskets and everything you might need to keep your kid from having a tantrum. Looking after kids is not always easy, but when they don’t have tantrums, as a parent, it is a proud moment seeing your kids grow up. With that being said, no parent forgets having to ask friends and family members for help. Some people even checked out sites like Mommyhood101 for additional assistance when it comes to buying baby essentials. No one said kids were easy to look after, but getting to go to events like these with them is rewarding.
Our final destination was the Yards Park. It was beautiful, to say the least. We were right on the waterfront, listening to a live cover band, and enjoying our Friday night with old friends, new friends, and the kids.
We always have delicious cupcakes, they were so good.
Wine for Mom and sippy cups for the kids and bottles for the babies.
Face painting and balloon animals for the kids. This young lady was a hit from the time she arrived.
LittleCuteLips had to get in on the face painting action.
At every District MotherHued event, they have a photographer capturing our moments.
Founders Simona Noche & Nikki Osei always provide such creative experiences for the #DMVMomTribe
These aren’t the style of events to just keep to yourself. We smile and say hello, you both have kids and that is a common factor. As you connect with each woman know that they are a part of your new village. If nothing else you are forever bonded by motherhood.
You have it admit, this is so cute.
