I hope your Father’s Day weekend was a breeze. Mine was perfect; we showered Babe with love and silence, and then the kids and I took him out for a dope dinner. Last week I attended my first paint nite event. People have been sipping and painting for some time now and although I wanted to try it I just hadn’t. Now I can put a check mark in that box.
Our paint party took place at St. Charles Town Center, in Waldorf, Maryland.
Yup, we had a paint party in the mall and it wasn’t weird and strange like I thought. It was actually really dope. so dope people stood over our heads and watched and recorded us. You know because that isn’t’ creepy at all.
Our amazing teacher helped us out a bit for the sake of time. She drew the hands making a heart shape. The rest is up to us.
Everyone had a set of five brushes to work with and a cup of water. The colored piece of tape represented the size of the brush. Our instructor would tell us which color she recommends for each section.
Our paint was pre-poured for us with all the colors we would need. They would later add a drop of orange for the final step.
Myneko of Kreative Crafts was our teacher for the evening. She is a good time, she said the goal is to get the painting out of the car and into the house. She works the D(C)M(D)V(A) area and does much more than paint parties for adults and children.
Everyone was so into their work, it looks serious but it was chill. We laughed, joked and got to know the people sitting around us.
This is my canvas on the far right, I was putting the finishing touches on my painting. I decided that I didn’t like the what should waves at the bottom of my ocean. You know because it doesn’t look like actual waves.
Big Thanks to St. Charles Town Center for having us. This was such a dope idea.
