Hey Cuties,
LittleCuteLips and I had an epic Mommy Daughter Day, really it was a weekend. The boys were out of town and I had to make sure we had as much fun as they did if not more. I didn’t have a solid list of activities for us to do, but I had a few things in mind. They worked out even better than I imagined.
LittleCuteLips is a typical kid and is always asking me to buy something. I had made note of a few things she has been asking for and a deal I had made with her the previous weekend. I use those things to plan out our day.
Saturday morning the boys got up to hit the road; so we got dressed to start our day as well. We went for a comfy and cute vibe, it was kind of cool in the morning and the high was only 72 for the day. Weeks ago I got LittleCuteLips this cute track suit from Target, and it was perfect for our Mommy Daughter day. As you can see she was feeling it.
Our first stop was to Build A Bear, LittleCuteLips has been asking for clothes for her two bears she had a home. When I looked up the store opening time I found out it was National Teddy Bear Day. SAY WHAT! Build A Bear had bears for $5.50 while supplies last. I hit the Mommy jack pot. Instead of just bear clothes she got a new bear and a bear carrier. She was so excited.
She shopped herself silly and was all smiles.
It was hardly 11 AM but the sun was shining just right. The breeze was refreshing and we had our sunnies on.
Meet Smiley, she is the newest bear to our family. She hung out with us for the rest of our Mommy Daughter Day. We grabbed some breakfast on the go, ate it in the car and headed to Michael’s. Guarded with coupons we were ready to pick up the Halloween items LittleCuteLips wanted. She wants to be a witch for Halloween this year so we got her a witch hat and socks. All of the Halloween items were 40% off, I picked up two super cute lace headbands for me.
We tossed more bags in the trunk and we were off to our next stop. Our favorite store on earth of course TARGET!!!! In true Target fashion, we purchased all of the things. Clothes, toys and some fun beauty products for us to try. LittleCuteLips is really into Lego these days so I got her another set to put together. Then we headed home, we had been out all day and we needed to recharge.
Soon as she hit the door she gathered up her other bears and began to dress them up and introduce them to Smiley. That kept her occupied for some time.
Once she was done, it was on to her Lego’s. She ripped them open and began putting things together. It is always so cute to see her mind at work. We were supposed to go back out for dinner but decided to stay in.
So we tried out the new mud mask we purchased from Target. She was unsure about how it worked but was a total sport. It was a fun experience for the both of us. It left our skin feel baby soft.
It was late and we were tired. A slumber party in the living room with her bear friends was in order. We turned on the movie Trolls and fell asleep.
Mommy Daughter Day 2 was going down and this time we were twinning. It was another “fall” like day and so denim on denim and Converse were in order. Our day started out with a movie at 11:30 AM. We had the theater to ourselves until the movie started. Then a Mommy came in with her two little’s.
We saw the move LEAP. Have you heard of it? I hadn’t until my BFF told me about it. It was the perfect movie for us. OMG, it was so freaking good. The movie is about following your dreams no matter what. It is perfect for boys and girls and we can’t wait to buy it on DVD. LittleCuteLips loved the movie she began to cry. Right there in the theater she was hugging me and crying like a baby. OH MY GOSH! As a little lady, she has years of crying at movies but this was her first. She got it, she got all the lessons they shared in the movie. We hugged and talked about the lessons and left the theater feeling a wee bit closer.
11-year-old orphan, Félicie (Elle Fanning) has one dream - to go to Paris and become a dancer. Her best friend Victor (Nat Wolff), an imaginative but exhausting boy with a passion for creating, has a dream of his own - to become a famous inventor. In a leap of faith, Victor and Félicie leave their orphanage in pursuit of their passions.
We dried our tears and had a full on photo shoot outside the theater. Isn’t that what everyone else would do? Yup! Shout out to my iPhone 7+ Portrait mode and mini tripod for the win.
The day before was all about fun, but today we also needed to take care of business so we did some grocery shopping. Worked up a full appetite and went to Famous Dave’s for grub. This was the Mommy portion of the day, I had been dreaming of a loaded baked potato. Silly selfie anyone?
We were stuffed, so we headed home to unload more bags. We also had to get ready for the boy’s return and school and work the next day. We had such a great time. We enjoyed one anthers company, we bonded, we laughed and we had a girly good time. I need to make sure we do these every month or two.
Did you have Mommy Daughter Day with your Mom? Do you have them with your daughter? Auntie Day is a thing too. Chat with me in the comments below or FB, IG, and Twitter.
Awww this was too cute!!! You ladies had great style both days. You definitely hit the jackpot with those bears. I saw the trailer for Leap and it seemed really good and inspiring. Glad you girls enjoyed yourself. ❤
Thanks, Sheena. Leap was incredible I can’t wait to get it on DVD for her.
That sounds like it was so much fun! Mommy/daughter time is the best. I always love it when I can get some one on one time in with my girls.
You are so right Stacie, we enjoyed being in full on girl mode.
Wow, you made it a 2-day event! What a lucky girl. I heard about the Build a Bear $5.50 event, but we weren’t able to make it. My kids love it there. And they love sleepovers. Sounds like you had a fantastic time together 🙂
Yes, that was the first time. I plan to do it often and change it up a bit.
I love this! It truly is inspiring and I love the video….These are what you called treasured memories, one she will look back on and smile. Kudo’s to you mommy…Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Daria. I try to capture my kids at the stages they are in. They won’t stay this way forever but we can look back on them.
It is so important to have some time alone with your children and take some time out for a mommy daughter day! It looks like you had such a blast.
Thanks, Nancy. It is it was nice that we had our girl time and the boys had their boy time.
It looks like you had such a great time with your daughter! She’s super cute by the way. It is fun to take some time out and spend it alone with your children.
Thanks, Gingermommy. We had so much fun, I need to do the same thing with my son.
Awe, it looks and sounds like you and your daughter had a wonderful mommy daughter day! My daughter and I would have pretty much had the same day, Lego’s included. 🙂
I love that Joanna.
You and your mini look like you had a blast. I need to plan a mommy and me date for me and my daughter We are long overdue. I still love Build A Bear. LOL
Go for it Kita, I want to do this every couple of months.
What a fabulous day! I love spending time with my daughter! We haven’t had a full day like you did! I think it is time!
Go for it Jennifer, that was the first time she and I had a full day like this.
Well I must say Smiley is a pretty bear and I LOVE her dress! I love Build-a-Bear! I miss going there with my daughter. Maybe we should just go sometime! Legos are always a win! Oh and I JUST had BBQ before reading this lol otherwise I would be craving it having seen it here!
Looks like a beautiful day! Keep her close – they grow way too fast!
Thanks, Joely. I’ve been thinking about that BBQ since we had it. It was a great way for us to make on our bond closer.
You lovely ladies look like you had such a great time! I remember when my girls were this little! Cherish these moments, they grow so fast! She’s adorable btw 🙂
Thanks, Sapphire. We had such a great time and I was soaking up each moment.
What a fun filled day! My daughter and I would have had a blast on your adventure. I use to love shopping and getting manicures with my daughter.
You can get as fancy or as simple for Mommy-Daughter Day. Facials at home are way cheaper than facials at the spa. lol
Awww, she sounds like such a sweetheart. I love that you got to spend such a special day with her. Those will last a lifetime.
She is a sweetie and she is such a girly girl. She enjoys doing things as a family but there is nothing like Mommy time.
Awww, it looks like you two had a great time. It is nice that you two got to spend some quality time alone doing girly stuff. Camping out in the living room was always one of my favorites.
My kids love a livingroom camp out.
I absolutely LOVE this! My daughter is 2 and I’m so looking forward to mommy and me days such as this!
Get ready for lots of Mommy Daughter fun.
Sounds like a great weekend. Emma and I are going out of town this weekend together with my sister and her daughter but I hope to be able to plan some of these same days for us in the future. I know she would love it!
That is cute I love that. I would totally do that with my sister and niece except my niece is in her 20’s and has two kids of her own. lol
Looks like you guys had a ball and yes, you more than hit the jackpot at Build-a-Bear. What a deal. What fun it is to have a daughter. I’ll live through the two of you!
Hahah, Ty, it is. The fun I had with my son was way different with my son. It was all boy stuff all the time.
Looks and sounds like you had an amazing Mommy Daughter weekend! Loved the pics and those matching denim outfits! So cute!
We really did, now I need to get a bit more creative for our next one.
Reading your blog makes me excited to have kids one day. You guys are so cute and I love the girls day adventures you all had, and so cute you documented this she will remember this for life!
Aww, thank you. I have so many memories with my Mom I want my kids to have even more.
That’s wonderful! My mom is thousands of miles away from me so we can’t do that as much as we want to. I’ll just make it up to her once we go on vacation to my home country again. I love the photos, btw. So sweet!
That is a great idea Lynndee. Thanks a bunch.
So cute!!! I can’t wait to have a daughter to go get manis and spa dates with. I’m planning my sons date now thinking of zip lining!
I was a mom to a son only for 7 years so I get it. I love zip lining, that is a great activity.
Awe what an awesome day! I love that you wen tot build a bear!
Thanks, Adaleta. She loved Build-A-Bear
I know my mom and I hung out as a child but we didn’t officially call it mother/daughter day. I think I make sure we have them more, now that I am an adult. I enjoy Famous Dave’s but haven’t ate there in a while. I have never heard of the movie Leap but I love how your daughter can show such strong emotions as a small child. I don cry alot in person but I’m a sucker when it comes to a sad part in a movie. I think its important to have separate bonding time with each child, so glad you all were able to make a weekend out of it.
OMG Tiffany, I am the same way. Life doesn’t make me cry but a movie or commercial will in a heartbeat. hahahah
Looks like it was so fun for both mama and daughter.Your girl is cute! I always try to give some time to my six year old son.
Thanks, Lisa. I need to do more one on one time with each kid. My son has interest of his own.
Awe she is so adorable. It looks like yall had a wonderful day!
Thanks, Victoria. We had an amazing time.
Such an awesome weekend! I felt like I was there with you! Glad you enjoyed Leap – the girls and I enjoyed it too!
Yay, that is always the goal. I can’t wait to get the movie on DVD for her.
