Be Fearless And Free Like A Superhero At Zava Zone

Hey Cuties,

Two weeks ago the Manchild had a milestone birthday, he turned 13. I didn’t talk about it because he didn’t want to really celebrate. How sway? What do you mean? I was all ready to have the party of the year, I had come up with a few themes that I knew he would love. And he loved them, but he didn’t want a party.

My kids only have big birthday parties for milestone birthdays so his last party was 10 and he allowed us to do the bells and whistles with a Minecraft Theme.  This year he is a teenager and he didn’t want people starring in his face and singing Happy Birthday, so we didn’t. I was hurt, like really hurt. I was forced to deal so I did but a devastation took place. With all of that said he did allow our family of four to celebrate. It included no cake and no singing but lots of fun and tons of laughter.

Ready set go…

Zava Zone

We headed to Zava Zone, if you are in the DMV area this place is located in Rockville, Maryland. They are a Healthy, Carefree, Fun in Motion multi-attraction indoor experience.  Zava Zone is the brainchild of two groups of parents who were sick of hearing their children argue about what to do in their spare time. THEY ARE OUR KIND OF PEOPLE!!! I won’t go off on a tangent about this because I know you already know.

Low Ropes Course

Our son loves parkour so I already knew he was going to love this place. We are all about crazy fun adventures so this was a great fit for the family.

Parkour: the sport of moving along a route, typically in a city, trying to get around and through various obstacles in the quickest and most efficient manner possible, by jumping, climbing or running.

Zava Zone

High Ropes Course

This was our first visit so we only signed up for an hour. You can do longer, and we will the next time.

Jump Zone

The place is huge, and Saturday is the worse day to go because it is packed out.

LittleCuteLips is having a hanging good time. Meanwhile, the Manchild was trying to navigate the Sonic the Hedge Hog rings.

Both Babe and the Manchild are very athletic and very competitive. So this trip was another Bromance type of experience for them and LittleCuteLips and I were just along for the ride. We had our own fun so we didn’t mind.  It is cute to watch.

These were easy to walk across but not as easy to get off.

Ninja Warrior Course (Video: 2:50)

They made quick work of this, I got up but I couldn’t manage to move to the next pole. I also couldn’t hold my weight up long. I guess stripping is out of my future.

Vertical Zone: Poll Walk (Video: 3:24)

We all did this one, LittleCuteLips wasn’t strong enough to handle the rope but the rest of us made it to the top.

The trampoline part is just like Sky Zone, Flight and all of those other places. The Manchild loves to backflip, I caught him mid-motion.

Oh, yeah. I got my jump on too.

Foam Pit (Video: 7:00)

LittleCuteLips love the foam pit, she jumps and dives and I just help pull her out when she feels stuck. lol

It wasn’t I had in mind, but it was exactly what he wanted. We had a great time, just the four of us. We will go back, we didn’t get to try out the high ropes course. I was looking forward to that part the most.
