I have survived another highly allergic week in this spring season that feels like winter. Despite my puffy eyes, stuffy nose that runs like a faucet and excessive sneezing I turned up with my Mommy.
Let me give you some backstory, so you can better understand why this moment meant so much to me. I was raised by my Mom and she was a single parent. She raised my older sister and I on her own, all of my life. She is naturally conservative in every aspect of life. On top of that we were “Jesus Freaks”. If the doors of the church were open we were there. I sang on the choir, I was an usher, I went to Sunday School, Bible Study, Vacation Bible School, every 3 PM program the church had and something called Baptist Training Union on Friday evening. I am probably missing a few things, but you get the point. While the schedule was hectic I did enjoy going until I was in High School.
My Mom was this person until she turned 60 years old. She successfully raised two daughters, she had 3 grandkids, she took care of both of her parents until they took their last breath, and she buried her baby sister. The greatest of all of these things is she beat cancer. If these things don’t give you a better appreciation for tomorrow then I don’t know what will.
In October my mother and her fellow Breast Cancer Survivors were invited to a local news station in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At the end of the episode, they were gifted concert tickets to see P!NK! Fast forward 6 months and the day has arrived.
Cruising around in my six four, okay I’m not but I could not resist those Easy E Lyrics. Cruising around in my Mazda 3. Prior to the concert, I had to secure the bag, the grub bag. I wasn’t sure what I was going to wear so I had to figure that out. I went with something comfy, and cute and relatively winter weather friendly in spring.
I scooped Mom up so we could head to the city. She didn’t recognize my ride because I was showing off in this super cute white 2018 Snowflake White Pearl Mica Mazda 3 Touring. It sits low to the ground so she had to fall in. It felt like I was driving around in a race car. I stepped on the gas, activated the sports mode and we were on our way.
Although I hit the sports mode I followed the rules of the road. With this kind of visuals, they make sure you stop when you are supposed to and maintain your speed. I do like that feature.
My sister was supposed to go with Mommy and I but had a last minute change of plans so my cousin Faye joined us. Although Mommy is her Aunt she is also her God Mother.
This was my first time at a P!NK concert, but I knew she would be incredible. Her visual effects were transformative, you know this was my favorite. I had to get a picture.
This was not only visual on the screen, she legit had fire blazing up during the entire song.
My two favorite P!NK songs are So What and You’re Just Like a Pill. Please know that I screamed the lyrics to both songs at the top of my lungs. I had not felt so liberated in such a long time.
I can’t stay on your morphine, ’cause it’s making me itch
I said I tried to call the nurse again but she’s being a little bitch
I think I’ll get outta here, where I can
To the middle of nowhere
To the middle of my frustrated fears
And I swear you’re just like a pill
‘Stead of makin’ me better, you keep makin’ me ill
You keep makin’ me ill
Na na na na na na na, I wanna start a fight
I’m still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don’t need you
And guess what
I’m having more fun
And now that we’re done
I’m gonna show you tonight
I’m alright, I’m just fine
And you’re a tool
So, so what?
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don’t want you tonight…
People magazine just released their #TheBeautifulIssue and look who is on the cover. Grammy Winner P!nk and her two kids.
My Mom had an amazing time at the concert. She did not know any of the songs, yet she was partying with us. I told her Pink is a certified aerialist so the visuals would be incredible, they were even better than I imagined. The entire crowd stood up with us almost the entire time and so did my Mom. It felt good to see her so free and in the moment.

This is a fun car to drive. It is too small for my family of four but perfect for a couple, a young adult or one person. It is visually appealing, the handling is solid and the gas, OMG the gas is the greatest bang for your buck. I will miss that now that I am back to driving my SUV. This Mazda 3 Touring is a great bang for your buck. The technology alone makes it incredibly worth it.
