Hey Cuties,
I had a busy weekend, but I kicked it off with a Date Night. Babe did all of the planning and I just had to decide what I was going to wear. We did a 2 hour Segway Tour in DC with Bike and Roll.
Babe has talked about doing this for quite some time. Finally, I was on board although I had all the concerns.
I bought these overalls last month after loosely hunting for the perfect pair. I’ve been wanting a pair since they came back in style. This activity was the perfect time for me to put them on. They are so cute and comfy like I remember them as a kid. I kept it simple with a white t-shirt and used my accessories as dope pops of color. She cute!
When the view is dope you must selfie, so we did.
Bike and Roll offers professionally guided bike and Segway tours that offers a unique way to see Washington, DC. They offer up to ten guided bike and Segway tours a day, and bike rentals if you want to go out on your own.
You have to sign up for the tours, but a bike rental does not require a reservation. They give you bikes, helmets, and locks. They have bikes for kids and adults and if you want to pull the baby or toddler around they have that attachment as well. They also had tandem bikes which I really want to do. Babe said I would make him do all the work. I might!
We signed all the waivers and put on our “safety gear” aka these bright ass helmets. I did not complain because everyone had to wear them. However, they were messing up my fresh cut and it did not go with my outfit.
We watched a safety video and then had a one-on-one practice. They taught us how to safely get on, get off, go forward, turn around, and stop. Those are the basics fundamentals of riding a Segway.
I was worried, I was so worried. I asked Babe if I needed knee pads and a mouth guard. I did not want to fall on my face. I paid a lot of money to perfect these teeth.
Listen, Linda! What you see here is a gal sharing in her man’s interest. A gal that is open to doing the things he wants to do. Even if that means she has two panic attacks while riding and is the slowest person on the tour. Babe kept telling me to “Keep Up with the group.” I was trying, but I did not want to fall.
They see me rollin… yup right down the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue.
Babe rode Macaroni and I rode Hopf.
The tour part was really cool, our guide Dee shared a lot of history with us. A lot of information I did not know, but it was fascinating and funny. We had a few scheduled breaks during out tour with the longest being 10 minutes. Our tour guide took our pictures at the monuments for us, that was dope.
We also took selfies because why not, our sunglasses are poppin.
Babe had a ball, he was trying to jump the curb and do tricks. I was just trying not to die. I would have picked this activity but it was a lot of fun. I would like to say I would never do this again, but I would be a black ass lie. I keep allowing him to talk me into an adventure of some sort. We’ve done the trapeze school, scuba diving, bike to work, and so more crazy stuff.

Mimi, this looks so cool! What a fun date night–much more adventurous than a movie.
Yes it is, I love the non-traditional dates that we have.
This has got to be the coolest date night ever! If i am ever in DC I am going to drag the Hubby to do this because – yay!
You totally should, I do like the adventure date night brings.
LOL at him trying to do tricks!!! We did these a couple of years ago and it was so much fun once you get the hang of it. I love that y’all were able to tour your city like tourists. And you’re definitely rocking those overalls. They were a very nice find 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
He can’t help himself. lol I always enjoy being a tourist in our own backyard. We get a different experience when its just us vs. when we have the kids.
Thanks, I’m obsessed with these overalls.
This is so cute. I have done bike and roll in DC, but the bikes. I’m afraid of Segways. I always think I’m going to fall lol. Cute date night.
I kept thinking I was going to fall forward. That is when the panic attacks would kick in.
You two are so cute. I would love to take a Segway Tour around Atlanta. I love that you can Segway around some major monuments in DC. Fun date night without the fluff. I’m here for it.
Yes, we don’t do a lot of fluff. I think they are very basic or adventurous. lol
Well you are indeed braver than me! One of my co-workers did a segway tour with her mom. About halfway during the tour her mom fell and broke her nose, bruised her ribs and lost a tooth. I have never entertained the idea of riding a segway ever since. LOL!
OH MY GOSH! Ola that is why I wanted a mouth guard and knee pads. I was so afraid that I would fall and end up like your co-workers Mom. Eeeek!
This looks and sounds fun, but believe it or not I am too scared to try it lol. I love your sneakers.
Ha! I was afraid too, but I can check it off my list.
Yall always have fun date nights! It motivates me to find some out of the box date nights for Darrick and I. We actually havent been on a date in quite some time…LIFE! But I told him come August he better have something planned! I cant wait to share this with him, it looked like so much fun!
Thanks, I’m not naturally an adventurous person. He is so it has pushed me to try things I would never do on my own. Some of them I absolutely love to do now.
This is a cute date idea! I would’ve been just like you, trying to be careful and go slow too!
Hahahahaha, I got a little faster but I was still in the back.
I’d totally be up for it. I’m the risk taker in my family and my husband is the cautious one. My brother-in-law and his girlfriend were visiting last week and I mentioned segways, but it wouldn’t stop raining to let us be great.
Awww, then you guys would love this one. Get the Groupon deal, it is a bit cheaper. He can be in the back like I was.
I never knew you could do whole tours on segways! So cute now I want to do one!
Yup, I imagine you probably can in other cities too.
