Happy Halloween! I could not let Halloween happen without me. So I stayed up this morning until 1:30 Am to make this one DIY for you. I had so many ideas for this year, but major life goals were happening so I had to suck it up buttercup. I saw this joint on Beyonces Instagram story, which I saved for future reference using an app that lets you see instagram stories forever by saving them, and the minute I did I already knew I was going to make this. I loved her yellow version, but when I saw the pink one I was sold.
To be honest, I did think about having a look on somewhere like MeowPrint T Shirt Printing to see if they would be able to print the design on a sweatshirt but, the more I looked at it, the more I wanted to make it. Before I could make anything, however, I had to get my vision together. I knew I wanted my branding colors [pink, black, and white], and I would do MCL [MimiCuteLips] in Greek letters. Beyonce used a panther, but you know it is all lips everything so the design part was easy for me. You know I am sold out for branding, so as much as I loved her’s mine would be about me.
I started with my lips, I cut the lip out on my Cricut using a cartridge I already own. Then I traced said lip cut out onto felt using a Sharpie. Lastly, I cut the lip shape out.
Before I started my beading I traced the shape of the lips with black puff paint. Then one by one by one I added the beads on using clear E6000 glue.
Translating English to Greek is a bit different, I knew I was using MCL so in greek that is [made up] Mew Chi Lambda. I printed them out guestimating the size I wanted.
Repeat the same technique of tracing onto felt.
After tracing I cut my felt letters out nice and clean. I used a fine tip Sharpie, and it was ill-advised. The tip kept pulling at the fabric.
Everything has been traced, cut out, and beaded one by one. It looks good too.
Once everything was done, I made sure to clean up the straggling pieces. I love the way it turned out. It is so cute, and so me. I played around with the spacing so when it came time to secure it to my sweatshirt it would be perfect. I put white felt behind the pink letters, then a big black piece behind a piece everything. It needed a pop of color, but I wanted it to remain cohesive.
Although I used E 6000 for the beads I use regular crafting gue to attach the pieces of felt.
When Beycone rocked it, she had on a pair of Louboutin fringe boot on. The way my life is set up, there is no coinage for such request. So I paired it with my tall fringe boots. They are stylish yet functional.
Oh, she is thicker than a snicker. I purchased this neon pink hoodie from someone on Etsy. It came cropped and everything. Although this is a fun Halloween look I will rock this on a regular basis. IJS.
