Ralph Breaks The Internet Review

Hey Cuties,

The family and I had some pre- Thanksgiving fun at the Ralph Breaks the Internet screening. The kids were pressed for this one, and it did not disappoint. This is Wreck-It Ralph 2 essentially. You don’t need to see the first one to enjoy the second one. I did not enjoy the first one.

All of us [the family] agree that the movie was really funny.

Ralph Breaks the Internet

SYNOPSIS: “Ralph Breaks the Internet” leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a website entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”

Ralph Breaks the Internet Review

My favorite character was Vanellope von Schweetz voiced by Sarah Silverman [far right], she is so bad @$$, she is sure of herself and kicks butt. She is a natural with the internet, you now real millennial like.

LittleCuteLips favorite character was Yesss, voiced by Taraji P. Henson [middle]. She was a boss, she knew how to work the internet like a boss and could make you go viral. As a blogger, I was incredibly amused by her character. Because algorithms. *insert eye roll*

Ralph Breaks the Internet Shank

The Man-Child’s favorite character was Shank, voiced by Gal Gadot.  Shank, is a kick @$$ driver in a racing game called Slaughter Race. She is a no holds barred type of gal and I love that he loved her. She is a beast at driving, and her ride is tricked out. His favorite scene was one with Shank racing.

Babe’s favorite character was Surge Protector, voiced by Phil Johnston.

The princess scene is one that is most talked about.  Disney poked fun at this notion that as women all of our problems are solved once a big man shows up.

Ralph Breaks The Internet is the perfect updated version of Wreck-It Ralph. So much has changed from six years ago. From video games to social media BuzzTube. In the movie, the characters will resemble someone you know in your life. You know someone who is a quick adapter like Vanellope, but you also know someone who just does not get it like Ralph. Depending on your age the someone who does not get it may be your parent or grandparent.

  2. Nkem

Thanks for this movie review! I think it’s the responsibility of media to highlight issues in society, like they touched on in the princess scene as you mentioned.

  3. Essence Sylvia Smith

Great review ! I love that it was enjoyable for your entire family. I can’t wait to go see the movie . I liked the first one so I know I’ll like this one too!

  4. Leslie

This was a great family film. I was not familiar with the first Wreck it Ralph but had no problem following along. Loved the role the princesses played and the lessons in the film.

  5. Antoinette

This is a great cast. I’m excited to see Taraji involved. She’s one of my favorite actresses.

  6. Lauren Floyd

Gon head Taraji! I love to see her win. I’ve got to see this one now. I always get caught up on all the kiddie flicks when I visit my aunt and cousins in Chicago. I have a son, but he’s too young to sit through a movie.

  7. Faizah

I’m glad to hear this one is better than the first. the trailer looked over the top…sensory overload. I cant wait to see the themes in this movie!

  8. Antoinette

I’ve been hearing great things about this movie. My kids are older so I don’t get to see the cartoons as much. I may have to coax my daughter into seeing this one with me.

Sounds like you all had a great time! I can’t wait to see the movie, I know the kids would love it! I didn’t know Taraji was a voice in the movie!

  12. Eva

That princess scene was GREAT! I love that they laughed at themselves. Some of that princess stuff is really ridiculous if you think about it, but it was nice to see that they don’t take it all too seriously.

  13. Tomiko

My baby (12) is not interested in family movies anymore. If it ain’t horror she doesn’t want to see it but I might go to the early movie to see this myself. Great review

  14. Kasi Perkins

I’ve been hearing great reviews about this movie, and this is yet another great review about it! It was interesting to read about your family’s different favorite characters. Looks and sounds like a lot of family fun!
