My holiday schedule is filling up fast and I am excited about getting my social on. I’ve been consumed with house stuff most of the year, and now it is time to get my holiday soiree on in the best way possible. That also means pulling my outfits together, deciding on a lip, and a game plan for the evening. Am I going home first or straight to the event from the office? Is this a girl’s night out or a date night out? Decisions, decisions, decisions.
This post is sponsored by Summer’s Eve®, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
So far, I have had two events last weekend, and I have about eight events coming up. I legit didn’t realize it was so many until I started counting on the calendar. Tis the season…
LET’S GET DRESSED…
#1 Picking out the look:
This is the second most important part of the process. Am I dressing up, or dressing down? Is this a comfy cute type of deal, or am I turning up my sexy for a date night with Babe? All these matter. Then to coat or not to coat, do I want to pay for coat check, is coat check even an option?
Saturday: Babe and I hit the town to celebrate the 40th birthday of my longtime friend. It was at Top Golf so a comfy and cute was the way to go. Oh, and we dressed alike; twinning with him is my new thing. This is a rare sighting of me in my glasses, usually, they are for the style, but these are for sight.
Thursday: My Boo, and I [TheStyleMedic] went to a preview launch event. I was going for a basic black, with a little razzle-dazzle of gold. I wanted to be comfy, but definitely cute. I don’t have legit makeup skills, so I went with a pair of oversized glasses.
#2 Shoe Selections: This is when the venue matters the most. The shoe I select for the parking garage is different from the shoe I would pick for street parking and walking. As you can see, I got fancy one night and came out the party into the start of a blizzard.
I had on a studded flat boot because golfing. They were hella fly though, I’m just saying.
Thursday: I decided that I was not down for my feet hurting so I went with a flat black leather oxford. It was cute though
#3 Handbag Options: To clutch or not to clutch, that is the question. Do I only need the essentials, or do I need a bigger purse to also hold my camera? You know, because MimiCuteLips is always working. Sometimes I am out at events just for fun, so I go with a small purse. Other times I go for a slightly bigger bag, so I can tuck my camera away when I need to. Either way, my handbag is going to be dope, and it is going to include my Summer’s Eve® Cleansing Cloths. They are lightly fragranced and help keep me fresh and confident in a discreet way. Big things come in small packages.
#4 Preparing for the look: This is the most important part of the process. Getting ready generally flows the same way no matter where I am going. Shave my legs + pits. Shower with Summer’s Eve® Cleansing Wash + face scrub. I attend a lot of events so keeping it cute and fresh is important. Summer’s Eve® Cleansing Cloths wipes to get rid of odor-causing bacteria. On Thursday I left straight from work and attended my event. So, I freshened up my situation and changed my clothes. No worries of outbreaks before the party because Summer’s Eve® products are gynecologist and dermatologist-tested. Your sensitive skin is safe.
#5 Make up: I’m no professional, but sometimes the event calls for a professional beat. Most of the time my basic makeup skills do just fine.
Saturday: I went with a very natural minimal makeup with a bold red lip.
Thursday: I used my accessories to hide my lack of makeup skills. After all, it was a beauty event.
