Big Apple, Good Eats & Cute Fits

What up Cuties?

What's good with you? I've been enjoying vacation with the family. By enjoying I mean listening to the kids fight more than usual. Listening to them tell me they are hungry 100 times a day instead of their normal 50. Oh and my favorite where are we going today question; you know the usual. I kicked off our "family" vacation with a trip to New York without the family. Makes sense right? A couple weeks back I mentioned I was going to travel alone for the first time. Well that sort of kind of still happened.

Corner Bakery Grilled Flats

Hey Cuties,

I am talking about food again, this time it's more healthy but still really good. Last week I attended a media event at Corner Bakery. Look any type of business can do a media event and when its food involved you best believe my face is in the place.  It has been crazy hot in the DMV area but Mother Nature was kind to us as we settled onto the patio of the Corner Bakery in Arlington, Virginia.

Soy Garlic Chicken Stir Fry

Hey Cuties,

I posted a pic of my dinner on IG and had folks inquiring so I thought I would just write a post. So here we go, lately I've been in the kitchen cooking. Not sure what has become of me but I've always been more of an eater than a cooker. If I'd known this would end up on the blog or I would have taken better pictures of the process. I was just teasing my cousins with pics via text. I made Soy Garlic Chicken Stir Fry and it was really good. I didn't have a recipe to follow but I will tell you how I did it. I saw a baggie of mixed veggies in the grocery store a few weeks back and bought them. I had no idea what I was going to do with them but I now owned them.

Miami Eats

Hey Cuties,

How was your weekend?  Mine was just what I needed. My Hike It Mama event took place on Saturday morning and it was an amazing good time. I will recap that on the blog later this week. After that I laid around and laid around some more. Yes on Saturday and Sunday, this body got the rest of a lifetime. Shout out to everyone that left a comment on my Anxiety post last week. The feedback was so amazing I genuinely appreciate it. Here is a recap from my much needed cousin-cation in South Beach, Miami.

Eat Your Heart Out in Atlanta

Hey Cuties!

I told you I had so much fun in Atlanta that I had to break up the post into a three part series. If you follow me on IG and you better, then you've had a peek of all the mouthwatering deliciousness that went down.  We've arrived to part 2 which happens to be my absolute favorite. FAT GIRL WARNING! {Fat is a mentality not necessarily reflected on the outside.} YOU WILL BE HUNGRY AFTER YOU READ THIS POST! You've been warned let's get started oh and I had sweet tea with all my meals well, because. These are some of my best places to eat in Atlanta.

Edible DIY Valentine's Day Crafts

Edible DIY Valentine’s Day Crafts

Hey Cuties,

My son had his black belt exam and tournament this weekend. I mean the entire weekend {he did make black belt} so we camped out in a hotel getting up early and staying up late. After returning home I wanted to do something a little fun with the kids. The little one was sleep so it turned out to be more bonding time with the 10 year old. I promised him that I would note all images were taken by him and by him I mean "Ninja Nasir". It's his thing go with it; after all he is a black belt now.

Capitol Bacon Festival #CBF2014

Now this is what dreams are made of; bacon, bacon, bacon, BACON! My bestie Bri sent me a link to the Capitol Bacon Festival asking me if I was down. Um heck yeah, bacon makes everything better. I've never been to a bacon festival and I didn't know what to expect but we had a blast. One block away from here is the Vegan Fest, for whatever reason that makes me giggle like a school girl. Perfect timing right? Totally!
The National's baseball team had a home game, and the Vegan Fest and the Capitol Bacon Fest were also on the same block. The limited parking was extra limited. I rode around several times but finally lucked up on this cute couple coming out. GLO-RAY! The lady got out and gave me their parking ticket which was good for 2 more hours. PRAISE BREAK! I gave them gracious thanks and waited for them to pull out of the parking spot. I didn't ask but I bet they were coming from the Vegan Fest. hahahahaha
