Organize Your Space: Do more with less!

One of my goals for 2014 is to get organized, I used to be a really organized person and I don't know what happened. Actually I do, life has been happening and I was all over the place.  For real my problem is I am a serial crafter and I have so many ideas in this head of mine that I frequently try and do everything I think of and go all out in doing so. Just like that super long run on sentence this is how busy my brain is. I used to make cards, that was my last big crafting addiction.  When I organized my space it was to accommodate my card making hobby.  I have tons of card stock, stickers, cut outs, glitters, paints you name it. Well then I moved on to shoes when I birthed From Mi To You in August of last year. Well you know that was a go big or go home type of deal too so now on top of my card stuff I've now added in shoes stuff.

Nori’s 1st Bee Day

Three months prior to LittleCuteLips birthday I began shopping around my creative ideas for a birthday party theme.  The only thing I knew was that I wanted a DIY (do it yourself) type of thing.  After a lot of Google searching I decided to go with a "Bee Day" theme.  I began creating an idea folder of all kinds of things I wanted to have/use/create to make this party a hit for my baby girls first birthday celebration.I really wish I had done a better job at snapping pictures. I was trying to live for the moment and didn't quite capture things the way I would have liked. Oh well!
With that said here we go...

DIY Costume: Owl

Hey Cuties,

This year I was really excited about Halloween a little more than usual. I now have "Costume Power" again. My son has been selecting his own costume for years now. I can't pick out little cute costumes that I love for him. That aint cool! Now that I have a little one I get "Costume Power" for at least the next 3 years. EXCITED!!!!

A Nest for Nori Michelle

gray baby nursery

I've been meaning to write this blog since I was pregnant and decorating the nursery for my baby girl. Well life happened and my baby girl is now 6 months and I'm just getting to write this blog. There are several little things I still need to add but here goes. Inspiration for the room: I wanted bold colors because I'm not a fan of pastels.  My Babe didn't want a "pink princess palace" (my favorite color is hot pink). We both wanted a modern nursery that could easily be a toddler's room as well. I didn't want something all matchy-matchy and I wanted to utilize different prints and bring them all together. With those things in mind I set out to create the ideal world for our little girl.  I finally decided I wanted the colors to be grey white and yellow with splashes of hot pink.

2nd Annual Mother’s Day Tea

It is that time of year, the time that we honor our Mothers, Grandmother's, God Mother's and Mother figures. It is MOTHER'S DAY! It is my annual tradition to host a Tea Party. Last Year's Tea was a blast, while it was my first it turned out rather nicely. This year I had even more ideas on how to improve upon my tea party. There were a few things I wanted to incorporate this year but I had a lot going (I was taking swimming lesson) on and I didn't get to all the tiny details.  All of my guest enjoyed the set up and had a really good time. I can't wait to make it even better next year.

DIY Costume “MimiMouse”

Hey Cuties,

I don't typically dress up for Halloween but this year my niece (5 years old) was having a Birthday Halloween Party. She requested everyone come dressed in costumes. I knew right away I wanted to go as Minnie Mouse but this also means I need a Mickey Mouse. We will get to that part later. In July of this year, we took our son to Disney World. You know, where the magic happens. While there I got some ears for myself and my son. You can't go without getting the ears.

You are invited to a tea party

Three Mother's Days in a row I have attended a tea with my mother and sister. Over those years I got the tea party itch and wanted to host a tea of my own.  In 2006 I purchased my own tea set and let me tell you it is a beauty. The theme of my set is butterflies, but they are so tiny I won't actually use them. From then I began to shop around for all of the perfect accessories to coordinate nicely with my set. As luck would have it I found the perfect bowl and plate from Target. I found other random accessories from Home Goods, Michael's and any other spots that had something butterfly-esque. Well five years later my time came and LADIES & GENTLEMEN I hosted my very first tea. For those that know me know I'm a lover of all things creative, crafts and planning. So I decided I would host a Post Mother's Day brunch since I was out of town on Mother's Day. I assembled my guest list, confirmed their availability and sent out my invitations. So I sent out five invitations, each a different color, each with a different butterfly. Here I captured each butterfly so you can see how they looked. I put in one full copy so you can visualize how each were styled different but looked the same.
