Happy New Year : MimiCutelips 2015 Year in Review

Hey Cuties,

We are down to the last day of 2015, Happy New Year! I appreciate you for rocking with me. I hope I've shared something that connected with you one way or another.  I read all your comments and I try to reply to each of them. I don't take your time for granted, you could be anywhere in the world but I appreciate that you come here to chat with me. This year has been major in a rather low key kind of way. Sometimes it takes some reflecting to realize just how far you've come. That applies across the board in life, when we are in the thick of things it's hard to realize the how far we've come. 2015 was a year of preparation for me and let me tell you MIMICUTELIPS IS READY HONEY!

5 Tips for getting Thanksgiving ready

Hey Cuties,

It is Thanksgiving Eve, is that even a thing? Do you have collards soaking in the sink? Is your bird in the fridge marinating in eleven herbs and spices? My Thanksgiving preparation is different than most I'm sure.  I like to refer myself as a new age gal with a twist. I do cook, because duh I have a family. However I'm not a gourmet cook or anything like that but I likes to eat. #FatSnacks.  Last year I tried my hand at preparing my first Thanksgiving meal and it was a hit. Now that I've crossed that item off my bucket list its back to bringing the beverages and flatware.  This year we're just showing up.

Happy Birthday MimiCuteLips

Hey Cuties,

As promised this is part two of my three part Miami recap. The first part was the SOAR Retreat, that was the reason for my trip to Miami. This part is about the celebration that took place while we were there. On our third day {10.18.} I turned 36 years old so I extended my trip a bit to celebrate. You know I love all things Miami, I went earlier this year and shared all of the deliciousness that took place.

First Day of Daycare an interview with a toddler

Hey Cuties,

This week was a big week for my household. My daughter started daycare and I wasn't sure how it was going to go. I didn't want to be the helicopter parent and just hover over her; even if my heart said I totally should. My daughter is very smart but very shy, we have gone over a variety of scenarios and she knows what to do. She is fully potty trained and can communicate her feelings. What am I worried about?

SOAR Retreat Lifting Women Higher

Hey Cuties,

I have some really exciting news to share with you. I'm talking a warm destination, beautiful views, powerful women and my birthday. Sounds amazing right? I, MimiCuteLips, Lifestyle Correspondent will be attending the SOAR Retreat put on by non-other than Mr. Steve Harvey. Are you bubbling over with excitement yet? This Retreat is all about Lifting Women Higher and I have new heights to reach.

Where is my purpose?

Hey Cuties,

I struggled all last week y'all. I wasn't moved to write, I didn't know what I wanted to talk about, and I was just not feeling it.  I’m constantly stressing over not knowing my purpose. I have amazing women around me and they are doing big things. This is by no means a competition but they are walking in their purpose. I'm jealous, not of their success because a victory for them is a victory for me. I'm jealous because they have figured out their purpose. I watched this awesome Periscope by Julian of Bold and Fearless all about Finding Your Purpose. The content was amazing, I took notes and I was still not feeling Bold and Fearless. WHAT IN THE WORLD!

Snapping out of your funk

Hey Cuties,

I've been in a bit of a funk as of late and I'm not 100% sure why. I had been trying to get my fat eating habits together and I was doing pretty well. I was drinking 64 ounces of water a day and using the bathroom like Sea biscuit. For lunch I was getting my very addictive Grilled Chicken Cesar Salad from Chopt. Then all hell broke loose in the office yesterday. I declared myself an emotional eater and took my emotional behind to Five Guys. It is only 2 blocks from my office, block one no problem, block 2 torrential down pour. I had on my cute pencil skirt and did not even care about the rain. My attitude was all the way funky. hahaha Shout out to the little bacon cheeseburger, Cajun fries and vanilla root beer soda that made me feel better. #FatSnacks

Happy Father’s Day Babe

Hey Cuties,

Father's Day is this weekend, and I hope you are ready to celebrate the Father's in your life. In 2004 my Babe and I became parents and Father's Day had a new meaning. Not only did I celebrate him I also celebrated the man that raised him.  The ONLY thing I wanted in my child’s father was for him to be hands on; I got that and more.  I was raised by a single parent so there weren't any Father's Day celebrations going on in my home.

Calling all Summer Ready Cuties!

Every year we say we are going to work on our summer bodies. We are going to do this by summer. Look like that by summer. Now let's be real, some of us just say it out of habit. Some of us actually take action and others of us pray without taking action. As Mom's this list is ten times longer. We are worried about our stretch marks, the extra weight we've gained. The girls don't quite sit up like they used to. We would feel cuter if... We would look better if. Bump all of that embrace YOU as YOU are at this very moment.
