Hey Cuties,
I’ve been getting my DIY on as of late; my crafting mojo is in overdrive right now and I’m going to ride the wave. With that said this is another craft, I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. Pinterest will make you feel like you can make anything. You don’t need any prior craft abilities to make this collar. Fashion week is starting and I will be rocking my own looks.
You can make this collar for $10 or less; now that is fashion on a budget. Supplies: Felt, collar template, pearls and or beads, glue and ribbon.
Felt is really cheap to buy, I’m talking coins only. You can use regular fabric if you want, it will work just fine. You can find a collar template on the internet or you can make one yourself by tracing something circular. Once you have your template trace it onto your felt, I used a silver Sharpie. Note: I cut out two felt collars.
I already had pearls so I used those and because they are classic. You can use pearls or other beads or a combination of the two. I started with the outer edges, no real reason why. If you want, you can go row by row if that works better for you. I used transparent E6000 glue which requires a facial mask and proper ventilation.
After you’ve filled your collar up with the pearls and or beads of your choice you will need to add your ribbon. Flip it over using the same glue and attach your ribbon. You can use ribbon, string, rope, whatever you want. Fun Fact: This ribbon came from my Pandora gift bag.
I glued the second piece of felt to the back to cover the ribbon and it is ready to wear. After this picture, I shifted it over a bit so it lined up perfectly.
I used three different pearl sizes, I used the smaller ones to fill in some of the blank space.
This was another quick and easy DIY project. I love the way it turned out, I’m going to make another with jewels, I think that would be hot. You can style this with a t-shirt, a sweatshirt a button up or whatever else you come up with. There are no styling limits here, just have fun.
Would you rock this? Chat with me in the comment below or FB, IG or Twitter.
I loved this project. I think I will share with my niece who is growing into a little style maven and is always looking for creative things to do.
I hope she loves it Cynthia.
This a really fun DIY jewelry project! Now you have me thinking about something for my daughter! Thanks for sharing!
Shellz you can get all kinds of creative with this one.
Love this! It is beautiful and you made it so simple. I can’t wait to try it out. I am usually not good at DIYs but I plan to try this one!
Rebecca you can totally handle this one and you can take all of the credit.
How cute is this. I wish I was that creative. This is definitely a project I can try with my little one!
Mommy and me collars would be super cute. If you do it with mini me use a Modge Podge type of glue.
Now this is something I could definitely try because it doesn’t involve a sewing machine and I love crafty DIY projects.
Not one stitch involved. lol
That was super cute and easy. I’m going to share this with my friend who loves DIY.
Thanks LaShon, super easy, cute, expensive and doesn’t take a long time to make.
That is absolutely stunning. I never would have guessed that it was so easy to make, but you know I have to go make one now 🙂
Robin you totally should, rock it out.
I do believe I could make this! I love that the collar is low cost, but very high style. It will add a little glam to some of my plain shirts. Love it!
Thanks Alli, fashion doesn’t have to mean expensive.
So simple, yet extremely elegant. I love it!
Yes Elle, it can easily give new life to a plain top.
This is such a wonderful DIY! I am so loving the pearls, just hope I am good with diys.
Thanks Adeola, you can’t go wrong.
That is absolutely gorgeous! I love how big and bold it is, and I love that pearl look. So beautiful.
Thanks Paula, you can’t go wrong with pearls.
That is so cool! I also love the fact that it’s a neutral color so you can wear with multiple outfits. I don’t think l have the patience for this DIY and l’m sure mine would be lopsided..haha! (new trend perhaps? ) :-).
I plan to rock it to death, you can do so much with it. Maybe I will compile a ton of different looks so you can see how it can be styled a million different ways.
This is super creative. My niece would love something like this. Thanks for sharing. I’ll be pinning for later.
Thanks Joanna.

Oh my how pretty is this collar. Wondering if it is very heavy to wear. Very simple to make and I already have the ribbon and felt. Might start off small and make my granddaughter one first.
Candy, that is a great question. It isn’t heavy at all actually.
Girl! this is too cute and super simple. You have the best ideas.
Thanks Tanya.

Oh wow!! This collar is gorgeous and I love that it is a DIY!!
Thanks Ricci.
I totally love this! I love pearls! How long did it take you altogether to glue on the pearls?
All together it probably took a solid 30 minutes. Then you have to let the glue set.
I don’t wear collars often. I had no clue it would be that easy to make one though! It adds so much to the outfit!
Me either, but I’m about to rock them all the time.
Fabulous DIY as always. Te’s getting one for her birthday, well my birthday just passed (hint hint). You’ve inspired me to step up my DIY game. #IJS
You need to give it a go, I bet you will like it.
Great job! The collar looks great, and really stylish too. That wasn’t too terribly difficult. I might try it myself.
Thanks Dawn.
