Last week my favorite #DMVMomTribe reunited and it felt so good. District MotherHued met up for the Fall Motherhued on the historic U Street, NW, Washington, DC hosted by Etete. This was a let me help you transition your look into fall type of experience.

DJ Reece is The Only Choice, you can also hear him mixing 93.9 WKYS-FM set the mood and gave us some music to get our groove on. We got our groove on too, see exhibit A below.
Oh, we let our hair all the way down! PixelStrut always humors us with these funny gifs.
New friends or old friends we have fun. There is no such thing as strangers in this Mom Tribe.
These fall theme cocktails also set the mood.

Nikki Walton @curlynikki
Our guest of honor for the night was Nikki Walton known socially as Curly Nikki. She created her platform CurlyNikki.com to serve as an online “hair therapy session” for those struggling to embrace their naturally curly hair.

Shout out to JK Dowd Photography for all of these dope images.

The Mom Loft Pamper Suite Partners:

Kimeera Spa @kimeeraspa
Annastazia Unce is the Melanin Maintenance Technician of Kimeera Spa. They provided brow touch-ups. I sure needed to get my uni-brow in order. How often do you make it to the brow shop?

Image Concierge @imageconcierge
In this Mom game, it is so easy to forget about taking care of ourselves. The kids are fed and bathed and put together but we haven’t showered in days, you have a messy top knot, two-day-old yoga pants on and you’ve noticed you’re starting to experience some pain down below with some discharge. At this point, perhaps it’s time to throw those yoga pants away and get some boric acid vaginal suppositories, have a shower, throw on some new clothes and enjoy some you time. On this night The Melanin Matcher™, at Image Concierge was getting us all the way together.

Marjani Beauty @marjanibeautyco
Marjani Beauty is a premier indie beauty destination for women of color. The Purveyor of Brown Beauty™. They got us matched with your one true foundation shade. Listen, it is not cute to wear a foundation shade that does not match. Your makeup shouldn’t look like a peel-off mask. Learn those undertones ladies.
Ajahmure C. is the Editorial Manicurist behind Her Nails Rock. Her work can be seen on the sidewalk, catwalk, and in a magazine near you. Okay! Manicures were on deck. I don’t know about you but my nails are never polished, water won’t let me be great.
It’s Time For Healing was getting our mom tribe, relaxed honey. Working those kinks, toddler blues, potty training frustration and more right on out. Often times we shoulder everything and we don’t realize how it physically manifests in our bodies. Relax, Relate, Release!
Our goodie bags were heavy, that is how you know there was some really good stuff in there.

Andrea is my new friend, we bonded and chatted over our love for all things crafty, creative and Cricut machines. Judge your mother! We were so deep in conversation.
Listen, why are you forcing me to face the fact that I haven’t really taken care of ME in a while. I do try to regularly maintain my brows so I can look acceptable to myself when I wake up first thing in the morning, but nails, skin and whatnot are maintained by me when I really want it to be maintained by someone NOT me. This event looked SO necessary, and I’m glad that you got out to experience it!
Sorry girl, I do this because I care. I want you to be the best you.
I gotta join this group looks like so much fun!!! How do I join?
Follow them at District MotherHued on social media and join us for the next event.
The pics are dope! Looks like an awesome event. I love that this is for Moms to get together without the kids lol…thanks for sharing!
Right, because we need some life outside of our kids.
So cool. There are soooo many bloggers in NYC. I miss coming together for events like this. I also want that tshirt!
Join us, we are in DC.
I love the honey pots slogan haha!
This looks like an awesome event, packed with a room full of amazing women.
OMG! Me too, I cracking up laughing so hard but I totally get it.
I am well overdue for a mommy makeover. I was thinking about planning a weekend getaway for the holidays!
That sounds incredible, that is a great way to recharge.
A mother makeover? Why yes! So I’m living my “get your life” day through you! LOL!! I really like District Motherhued and the events they put on and this was no different. Thanks for shouting out all the businesses because a girl in the DMV needs to know where to go!
Hahahahaha. You need to join us, you would really enjoy yourself. Plus you also get to make new mommy friends.
Looks like so much fun! I am in desperate need of a mommy makeover right now! Might get one for Christmas lol
Yes to getting one for Christmas. Go for it LaShawn.
What an awesome event for moms. As moms we often find ourselves on the back burner to the spouse and children. Thanks for reminding moms to take care of ourselves and relax, relate, release with friends.
You are so right. That is why you need a tribe to make sure we are taking care of our-self.
It looks like you had an awesome time! I am not a mom, but I can appreciate needing some time to refresh your mind, body and spirit, especially with your girls in tow!
Yes, Saisha. That part is certainly universal.
The event looks like it was an awesome experience. I love that they had different black-owned businesses helping out. Moms need events like this one in their lives.
For sure, it is always us supporting us.
This looks like a fun event. Its important for mothers to have me time, but I understand they put everyone else before themselves.I used to go every 2 weeks for eyebrow, I’m embarrassed to say how often I go now, lets just say they have been neglected. LOL Super important to matched up for the correct foundation. I would have taken advantage of the massage table to get out all the kinks.
Put that at the top of your list girl. I should have taken advantage of the massage table too.
Looks like you ladies had a blast. I need to find a tribe like yours. A group of ladies where I can just have fun.
For sure Katherine, it is so important to have a village where you can let your hair down.
