Hey Cuties,
I am in desperate need of self-care, I used to be really good about taking care of myself. However, within the last year, I have fallen all the way off. The only thing I was consistent with was getting a haircut every two weeks.
I know what you’re thinking. How did I let myself get to this state? And the honest answer is that I don’t even know myself. In my mind, I had been thinking about self-care, but I just hadn’t got around to doing it. There are so many things that I want to think about doing in the future. I’ve always loved the idea of a tattoo. My friend likes getting tattoos to make her feel better and they look great. Although, once, she had to look for Toronto’s best ink removal company because she got a tattoo that she deeply regretted. That is my only worry with getting a tattoo as part of a self-care routine. Which is why I’m going to go down another route instead.
Once I realized it’s been ages since I’ve put myself first, I started to think of things I could do to improve my wellness and really commit to my self-care. I bought a foot massager for when I’ve had a long day on my feet, I bought some home gym equipment, and I started thinking about my beauty routine.
As much as I love nail polish, I never go and get my nails done. I also hardly ever polish them myself either. Pre-motherhood I used to go to the nail shop faithfully. I would walk about with a $70 bill, but my brows were waxed, nails filled and designed with a coordinating pedicure and designed toenails.
I also don’t know a lot about beauty products. So when TheStyleMedic suggested we do a Face Mask Friday I was all in. LittleCuteLips and I did a little face mask once, but that is it.
Now let me tell you how it happened…
We each picked a mask, she tried the charcoal mask before so I wanted to try it as well, I know a few people who had previously suffered from acne that use the charcoal mask as well as taking things like cbd gummies UK, USA, and other countries, in order to combat skin inflammation, so this was an extra incentive to give it a try! I purchased the mask probably months prior but it only sat in the drawer. After I mentioned it to Babe he and the Man-Child began to laugh and then told me about all these videos on YouTube. I had no idea, but I already had it so it was a go. He just asked that he could watch me do it. [He didn’t get to watch so I recorded a video for him.]

The mask went on easy, but I felt like I needed more in the packet for better coverage. It did not come with the spatula that I used although it would have been helpful if it did. TheStyleMedic is all thing beauty so she was prepared. Areas to Avoid: Eyebrows, facial piercings, sideburns, and or baby hair
Once it dries it feels like latex. As you pull it off your face you will see all the impurities that were in your skin. That part is gross, but my skin felt amazing after this. It was baby butt soft. I will do this to myself again.
Have you tried any of the peel off mask? Chat with me in the comments below or FB, IG, and Twitter.
I love facial masks. I don’t do them as often as I should, but I can always tell a difference in the way my face feels after I have done one. I’m trying to be more intentional about self-care, so this was right on time and confirmation for me to start doing it. Thanks!
Yes, Tamill start doing it. Our body will thank us.
I just cracked up all over again. Running away from your own face has to be the funniest thing ever! We’re overdue for another face mask Friday. Lucky for us, today is Friday 🙂
Hahahahaha I laugh like I wasn’t there too. I’m excited about doing it again.
I am so scared of that face mask LOL! I love using bentonite clay masks with apple cider vinegar and a drop of tea tree oil. Self care is important, my self care day is usually on a Saturday.
I like the side of your clay mask. I’ve never tried them before. This one looks worse than it is. My skin appreciated the good cleaning.
I’m so scared of these masks. Some of them look really painful.
Don’t be afraid, I had a great experience and your skin will thank you. Promise!
I legit have this mask on my dresser to use today. I love a good black face mask. Bosch has a nice one too.
Ha, that is funny. I want to try Bosch as well, this is a more affordable version.
First off, I’m proud of you for getting in some self-care. I do face masks maybe twice a month …if I remember, but I have yet to try a peel-off mask. I really want to though because I have seen a few tutorials on YouTube and I like that is pulls out so much gunk! I will pick one up soon to try for myself.
Olen, they clean deep and I loved that about it. I want to try other types but once a month I want a deep clean.
My husband uses these masks too. I had to actually talk him into using an applicator. (He thought using that made it girly lol.) Thank you for this post.
Hahahahaha that is hilarious. Tell him their is nothing girly about taking care of your skin. Babe wants to try them, but he has too much facial hair right now.
Glad you had a positive and entertaining experience with the mask! I love a good facial mask, but I don’t get to do them as often as I’d like either!
I want to at least do them twice a month. I loved this one, but I also want to try others.
Love this post! Looks like you had a good time :). I enjoy Masking! I typically mask twice a week with sheet masks, but I’ve fallen off of that routine! Right now I’m just washing, toning, serums, moisturize, sunscreen. That’s all I have time for!
I want to try the sheet mask, I’m trying to ease into a sold beauty routine. I’m not there yet, but I have come a long way.
I have been so afraid to try of these mask for the same reason your husband laughed. Those videos are scary, lol! I’ve been on the Tumeric Masks lately and I really like them. The only thing is turmeric stains EVERYTHING! I’ll leave the charcoal mask for you!
Give it a try, the videos are hilarious.
I’ve tried a charcoal mask and my experience was similar to yours. I need to do another one because it left my face feeling pretty smooth. Did yours smell like glue? Mine did. LOL
I did not smell like glue, but that is hilarious.
I’ve done peel masks, but not the charcoal ones. You’re on point. It’s an easy self-care routine women can do at home. I’ve got a few masks under my bathroom sink I need to use more often.
Yes! They also don’t break the bank. Pull them out and have a moment to yourself.
I am all about the face masks! I try my best to do a weekly if not bi-weekly, at home facial. Feels so good to peel off the week.
It does feel really good. I want to get on a bi-weekly schedule.
