Hey Cuties,
LITTLE the movie is finally in theaters on Friday, April 12th and you must go see it. I was worried that all of the funny might be in the trailer but IT IS NOT! This movie is hilarious start to finish and the underlying message is powerful. I co-hosted a screening for Little and then I also attended a screening with Comcast. Yes, the movie is that good that I have seen it twice.
LITTLE BACK STORY:
Girls Trip’s Regina Hall and Black-ish’s Marsai Martin both star as Jordan Sanders — Hall as the take-no-prisoners tech mogul adult version of Jordan and Martin as the 13-year-old version of her who wakes up in her adult self’s penthouse just before a do-or-die presentation. Insecure’s Issa Rae plays Jordan’s long-suffering assistant April, the only one in on the secret that her daily tormentor is now trapped in an awkward tween body just as everything is on the line. Little is an irreverent new comedy about the price of success, the power of sisterhood and having a second chance to grow up — and glow up — right.
PROOF OF THE BLACK GIRL MAGIC
Marsai Martin is a 14-year-old actress and producer. She is known for her role as Diane Johnson in the ABC comedy series Black-ish. She stars in and produced the 2019 Universal Pictures comedy film Little. MARSAI MARTIN IS THE YOUNGEST EXECUTIVE PRODUCER IN HOLLYWOOD HISTORY.
5 THINGS YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE MOVIE LITTLE
LAUGHTER: You will laugh out loud, you will laugh during the entire movie. While laughing you will also talk about to the screen because that is just how we do.
YOU WILL SEE YOURSELF: You will see yourself in one or more of the characters. You have been in this situation, you are in this situation now, or you may end up in this situation. The characters are very relate-able and it was refreshing.
YOU WILL BE INSPIRED: The movie is inspiring in a way I didn’t expect. It inspires to speak up, to be seen, to have a voice, to be heard, and a reminder that your talents will make room for you. If there is no seat at the table than build your damn table.
YOU NEED A GOOD GOOD GIRLFRIEND: As people, we are built to lean on one another. To connect with one another. To support one another, and you need someone to call you on your BS. Oh, and you need someone to keep you fly and conversely tell you when you look a hot ass mess. Being a loner is a lonely life.
THERE IS ROOM FOR EVERYONE: My life mantra is what is for me shall not miss me. This means you can’t take something that is for me. My success is not a hindrance to your success. Coke and Pepsi both exist in this world and neither of them is hurting for business. Other peoples success should not be a threat to you. Don’t be a hater, nobody likes a hater.
This movie is PG 13 for a reason, don’t take your 7-year-old. This movie is NOT for her. Bringing a 10-year-old is even pushing it. This is not Diana from Blackish, this is not a kid movie. I’m just saying. LittleCuteLips didn’t NOT and will NOT see this movie until she is a teenager. However, I did grab some swag that both of us could enjoy.
Don’t sleep on this movie, it is hilarious. I want us to WIN so make this a box office hit. When one of us wins, we all win. Make it a Mommy-Daughter thing if they are 13+ or make it a Girl’s Day out. Either way or both GO AND SEE AND SUPPORT THIS MOVIE!

We had so much fun, she is a girls girl.
I’m so ready to see this movie. I felt like I would walk away inspired. I need to get a group of women together to go. I’m so proud of this movie like I had something to do with it lol.
Yes, it is inspiring. It is a great movie to see with your girls.
Whoa, I had no idea she produced this movie! I need to check it out and show some support!
For sure you do, it is good too.
I can’t wait to see this movie! It looks hilarious.
It was so freaking good.
Thanks for the review and the “heads up” that this is NOT a kids movie ! I want to check it out now .
I would say see it first and then make a decision.
I want to see this movie. My husband and I tried to get us tickets today, but it was sold out at our favorite theater. I’m going to try and catch it during the week or a matinee next weekend.
A matinee is a good look.
I agree with everything you said and can’t wait to see this movie sans my little she will see it in many more years. Thank you for the parental warning. I see we have a friend in common, one of your roadies to the movie is a woman I know and admire.
Some people were okay with taking their kids, I was not. I say see it first and decide. Oh wow, that is so awesome. I roll with some dope women.
This is definitely one that I’m going to see. It sounds even more fun that I expected.
Did you have a chance to see it? If so, what did you think?
I was really excited about this movie, until I watched some review videos on YouTube. It looked really good from the trailer… so I dunno! Either way looks like a fun night out.
It is a great movie, with lessons you don’t expect.
The “Little” movie is beyond cute. This weekend my daughters want to go see it so I’m going to have to plan a girl’s day out and take them so they can enjoy it now that they are preteens.
That is a cute idea, I love that.
I love a movie that makes me laugh. Looks like a good time
Me too, laughter is good for the soul.
