Hey Cuties,
On Saturday night the family and I bundled up and braved the freezing cold for a night of fun. Monster Jam was in town at the Capital One Arena and we were excited about going. We have been one other time, but LittleCuteLips was about 2 years old and does not remember it.
“I am a Feld Family Ambassador, and in exchange for my time and efforts in attending shows and reporting my opinion within this blog, as well as keeping you advised of the latest discount offers, Feld Entertainment has provided me with complimentary tickets.”
It was so cold, that I didn’t both to get all cute. I could have done better, but not on today.
The show was set up in competitive rounds and they wanted you to get in on the action every step of the way. Each round was a competition and we got to vote for each monster truck based on their performance. Some were much better than others. The crowd was not afraid to score accordingly either. They give you the website, you put in the locality code, and vote after each stunt. The kids really enjoyed decided what to score each one.
My absolute favorite of the night was Monster Mutt Dalmatian driven by Kaylyn Migues. Spoiler Alert: She won the entire competition the night we attended.
I was rooting for all of the women, but the Monster Mutt Dalmatian was so dag on cute. Even better is how Kaylyn was whipping it like a boss. This was the two-wheel competition.
The Barbarian gave us a good show!
We believe in showing up prepared so we had our ear protection in tow with us. There were a ton of people selling earplugs outside and they had some at concession. Not sure how much they cost. I got these super cute pink pair from WalMart and put lip stickers on them. Branding is E V E R Y T H I N G !
Back to the show, in between the Monster Trucks were the 4 wheeler competition. That was Babe’s favorite part, he loved to see how high they could jump. Peep the uniform? Yup, this is the one for team Monster Mutt Dalmatian. Each truck also had a 4 wheeler rider.
Dragon here had an obviously dope look. The detailing was crazy, it’s funny that they frequently get torn up when they are customized so nicely.
Bad News Travels Fast had a dope paint job as well. But he managed to get bad scoring news most of the night.
Stinger was so entertaining that before the night was over his fairings were all torn off and he ran over them while stunting.
The best thing about Monster Jam shows is that EVERYONE has fun. It has a way of turning everyone into a kid. Don’t be shocked when you see kidless adults and even old people. Everyone has their face in the place.

First, can y’all start a family YouTube channel??? We need it! I love reading about your family’s adventures. I’ll be sure to go the next time they come to Nashville.
I would love to do that Sheena. I have to see if I can get everyone on board. I’m going to give it an unofficial go at it. My house is such a crazy place, it makes for good footage for sure.
This looks so fun! I have always wanted to take my kids but now they are older. Maybe the gbabies would like to go.
It was fun, your sound would probably still enjoy it. My son is 14 and he enjoys it.
Looks like you guys had a awesome time. Being a mom of a 7 yr old girl this is definitely not on her radar but who knows ! Now I know this exists !!
I get you, but she will still enjoy it. My daughter was really into it. Grab some lunch or dinner and go out for a non-traditional girl’s day. She might surprise you. 😉
This looks like a great event for the family. I hope they come to Chicago because I would definitely enjoy this.
Do check it out, it is so much freaking fun.
This seemed like so much fun. My mini me would love this. I’ll be heading over to checkout when they will be in NY.
Please do, it is so much fun. We love a great adventure.
I would have never thought to bring ear protection so I would have had to come outta pocket at the arena. Thanks for that tip. I’m definitely putting Monster Jam on my radar for next year.
Oh no, they will get you. There were a ton of hustle men ready to take your cash.
My family back home in Chicago goes to this every year. I can’t wait to join them when my little one is older. He already loves toy cars and trucks.
So cool, they know a good time when they see one. This is perfect for a car and truck lover of any size.
Looks like you guys had a dirty good time. That pic with the earphones would have definitely been me and my daughter ! Those huge Tonka Toy looking trucks must make ALOT of noise !!
They make a lot of freaking noise. Oddly enough so do the people, they scream the entire time. lol
I have never been to a Moster Jam but I use to ask my husband to take us but he was so uninterested in going that I stopped asking. Was it really loud? I bet the kids had a blast.
It is loud, but not painful. I would grab ear protection before you go. Better to have them and not need them.
Yessss to the lip stickers! Lol. I wanna take the boys to this but idk how they’d do with the noise. I might wait until they’re a little older.
Ha! I will brand anything I get my hands on. lol Get the ear gear and they will be just fine. The first time I took LittleCuteLips she was like 2 and she loved it. There was stroller parking and it was full so the place was filled with little people.
I’ve never been to a show, but I’d love to attend one day. I didn’t even realize that ear protection would be needed, this is good to know so I can plan accordingly.
Yes, ear protection is nice to have. You guys would totally enjoy it.
I’m all excited because I used to want to go to these when I was a kid. I didn’t even know they were still around. It looks like tons of fun and your beautiful family looked like they had a great time. I will definitely be that kidless adult in the audience next time the show comes to my city.
Nothing wrong with that at all. There were so many non-parentals and they have fun just the same.
You are the second person who’s post I read sharing their experience here, It looks like a lot of fun and I would definitely check it out.
It is fun, my family loves variety and adventure so this is perfect for us. We love fun.
I had major questions about the noise level there. Thanks for the heads up and suggestion about bringing your own headphones. I’m going to see if we can go to the show in Atlanta later this month.
Yes! Get ear protection, it is better to have it and not need it. Enjoy!
I remember when I was younger going to these events, so much fun. Especially the interactive piece. Now that I have a son, I can’t wait to start taking him to these type of events when he’s older.
Yes! I love when I get to re-live moments with my kids.
We went to Monster Jam a couple of years ago and it was a very cool experience! We all loved it!
I feel like your son would have the time of his life.
I would love to experience this it looks like so much fun. Love that the show is interactive!
It is very interactive which helps keep you engaged and not worried about what is going on outside of the venue.
The four wheeler race was our favorite too! That was the point that I caught myself cheering. I had a good time – I surprised myself. The kids and my husband had a blast too.
Ha! I was all the way in too. I love that yall enjoyed it.
Monster Jam looks like so much fun! I haven’t been since I was a kid – I think I need some new memories. Hoping they’re coming here sometime soon.
Yes to new memories, those are always needed.
This sounds like a lot of fun. I bet my husband would love this.
It is, you might surprise yourself and enjoy it too.
