On a typical Friday night, you can find me at home, on the sofa watching TV with Babe. But Friday night was everything but typical. First off we hit the streets at 9 PM. What! Oh, and I had a full on crew with me. I had suckered them into joining me for the Six Flags Fright Fest Media Night Preview.
BACKSTORY: Here is what you need to know about MimiCuteLips. She does not do scary movies. She does not like scary things. She does not like Sci-fi movies that might border on scary because of the way her nerves are set up. She just does not! Give her a chick flick, comedy, romantic comedy, Disney/Pixar blah blah blah and she is all in. Otherwise, miss her with the bullish. Despite all of these things she went and had a blast at Six Flags Fright Fest.
Once my heart returned to my chest we enjoyed some grub while FLESH performed inside of the Saloon. Think trained dancers +moulin rouge, that is the vibe I got. I might have to try some of their moves out. We followed that up with more heart palpitations as we walked to the Grand Theather.
As many times as I’ve been to Six Flags, this was my first time in the Grand Theather. It is pretty big, I had no idea all of this was going on.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
CUR2ED: The Ghost Patrol returns to solve a brand new musical mystery. When they unexpectedly find themselves trapped in the House of Voodoo trying desperately to save their souls from the High Priestess and her dark magic – they accidentally awaken Papa Legba and all hell breaks loose!
It was way funnier than I expected, but it does contain adult language. So don’t bring your little children, and parents decide if you want your teens to hear curse words.
This was my crew: Mi, Babe, The Manchild, Cousin Ty, The Style Medic, and Maximillion Petty. We had one more, but you can’t see her in the picture.
This picture was supposed to be me looking happy and smiley, except my face cannot tell a lie.
We finished the night off with a partial tour of the new haunted house Total Damnation. Translation: I screamed some more.
As scary as I was, I had a good time. It was outside of my comfort zone and while there is no growth. Because I don’t plan on doing this all the time and I still won’t be watching scary movies. Six Flags did an incredible job providing a haunted experience. Fright Fest is open select days September 22-October 28. If scary/haunted panic attacks are your thing then this is your place. I’m sure I could not handle the full-throttle experience, but you can.
Because late nights…
and scary dreams!
