Hey Cuties,
I didn’t get to eat nearly as much as I would like while in New York. There are some basics that you must do like eat a New York slice of pizza (I had 3), street meat, a dirty dog, and pretzels but they aren’t share-worthy. With that said, I’ve got our first #FatSnacks post of 2017. I didn’t select this spot but it was delicious and ripe for people watching.
Saturday night TheStyleMedic and I ventured down to the Lower East Side for cocktails, grub and chattery. We were meeting up with a fellow fly girl and we were looking forward to it. She recommended Sons of Essex as our dinner location. I didn’t look it up prior to our visit I just went with it; her clothes are fashionable, surely her eating habits were as well.

What I didn’t know until after our visit was how big of a deal this place is. Kayla told me she picked this place because the food was good, it has a nice vibe and you never know what will happen. That is my kind of place, it had all those things and a bit of foolishness. Not mine, but the super drunk guy at the table beside us. Essentially, he was harmless but a bit touchy and extremely talkative. After we finally dismissed him from our table we were able to dodge him the remainder of the night.

She didn’t mention that they had great cocktails. So, good that I sucked my Sangria down without even taking a picture. Selfie or it didn’t happen.
I love going to places that tell a story and this was one of those places. Celebrities like Rihanna, Drake, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Felicity Jones, Anton, and Zoe Kravitz have hung out here. Justin Bieber had his album release party here. The movie the Longest Week starring Olivia Wilde, Jason Bateman, and Tony Roberts filmed here. These wings were so freaking delicious, I could have licked every finger at least three times. Whisky Wings: whiskey honey glaze, with sriracha mayo $15
Truffle Mac ‘N’ Cheese + Lobster
I’m a sucker for mac & cheese, you just simply can’t go wrong. Truffle Mac ‘N’ Cheese: house truffle sauce, parmesan gratin + lobster $17 + $8
This was a really dope spot, I totally plan to go again and I hope to run into some of the celebs that visit.

Oh, the food looks amazing. I can’t even begin to picture how wonderful wings with whisky would taste, but l would sure like to try it. I haven’t been to New York in a loooonng time. Perhaps it’s time :-).

They were delicious on their own but they were even better together.
My favorite food to order when I go out is a burger! I know it’s boring, but I LOVE burgers! I would love to check out this place too! I hopefully will get out there sometime soon! SOOO many places to explore there!
Burgers are classic, I’m a burger and fries kind of gal too.
That Mac & Cheese looks amazing! My husband would love those wings. Looks like a really great place to eat. I’m so hungry now!

The truffle mac and cheese with lobster is going to be a favorite of mine once I get into this Sons of Essex! I wish we have an invite to visit New York soon. This place will be my first stop!

New York is a must visit city. The city itself is full of personality and wonder.
