Capital Solstice DC Event Recap

Hey Cuties,

Last Friday Babe and I set out on a working date to the Capital Solstice Black Tie Cocktail Dinner by TTC Private Chefs & Dinning Services.  The event boast about a nine course meal and a magical experience. That did happen, but not like you’re thinking. Can you really sit down and eat a nine course meal? If you answered yes you are a totally fatty, and we should do lunch. *High Five* The meal was served in a traditional tapas style; small plates.  This wasn’t a sit and eat time of affair. The goal is for you to eat and mix and mingle while enjoying the entertainment.

I received a free ticket to cover this event. These are clearly my own thoughts and feelings as we have an understanding about the truth here on mimicutelips.com.

VIDEO RECAP

They didn’t announce the venue until 48 hours prior to the event. *insert suspenseful music here* The event was held at Echostage. Echostage is DC’s largest concert/night life venue at 30,0000 plus square feet. Think wide open warehouse type of deal with a sound stage with two 60 foot bars on each side.

When I enter the venue, the first thing I see is this chocolate deliciousness below. I had no idea what it was but I immediately though cocktail.

BomBom Chocolate Cocktail Hour

I was right, BomBom is a premium Caribbean rum with cream and chocolate with a coconut and coffee flavor.

Thanks to Babe, this is what I really looked like to get this shot.

Lyft

Car service Lyft was there with these really cute pink mustaches. I totally want one.  They had a discount code that saved us $15 on our first two rides if we signed up.

The Space

They transformed this warehouse to this gorgeous late night hideout. Flower petals, candles REAL ACTUAL BURNING CANDLES. I loved the attention to detail. These days you see a lot of battery operated candles and they serve their purpose but real candles get the mood popping a bit differently. The music was playing and the energy was good.

Fashion Designer: Korto Momolu

Do we have any Project Runway fans in the house? Do have any Project Runway Season 5 & All Stars fans? If so, then you already know this beauty. While she was on the carpet taking photos she looked over to me and validated my entire outfit. Head to toe yall a fashion designer told me my look was E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G! I don’t know what tickles your fancy in life but this validation gave me my entire life and the future lives to come. HELL YEAH!
