When Moms and Wine Collide on a Wednesday Things Get Strange
Hey Cuties,
Last Wednesday I did something that all Mom’s should do, I went out. I left the kids at home with Babe, he checked homework, made sure they had dinner and showers while I got wine wasted. Not exactly but stay with it. DistrictMotherHued kicked off their first event of the year and I was looking forward to it. I had a save the date on my calendar for at least a month. The event was appropriately titled Moms Wine Out. After attending the December event I already knew I was in for a good time.
This time we headed downtown to RedRocks on H Street. The parking Gods smiled in my favor and I had a close spot to the door. The temps were 70+ in February, since we were having spring in the winter I wore a skirt. I got all cute for work so I didn’t have to change again and failed to take a picture of my look from head to toe. My bad.
I entered the venue and headed upstairs for our event. We had it all to ourselves which was nice, upon entrance I saw some familiar faces.
We soaked up some of the wine with these delicious cupcakes with strawberries dipped in chocolate on top. I’m a sucker for a sweet treat.
Sweets with our sweets.
Nikki and Simona kicked the evening off with a welcome and then a toast. A toast to motherhood, business, happiness and figuring it all out. Cheers!
Pixel Strut was there for a bit of instant gratification. The Style Medic and I had way too much fun snapping pics. Here we’ve been caught in action.
Proof of our foolishness.
The DistrictMotherHued moms put on their bold lip colors and rocked their best twist out. Niketa is slaying us with this twist out right now.
Sometimes as Moms we find ourselves in over-sized t-shirts, sweatpants or leggings with a messy top knot. These Mom events give us a chance to style our hair, beat our face and put on that outfit we purchased but never got around to wearing.
We let said perfectly styled hair down and enjoyed the moment, the freedom and the bonding. We received a complimentary house wine and then they had some dope $5 specials. That Sangria in my hand was incredible, I would go back for that alone.
Then the DJ plays your favorite jam and you recall your youth while sipping your cocktail and turn it all the way up. So far up that, you look back at it to make sure you still got it. Check up on it ladies!
Raffle time, we gathered around like kids with our fingers crossed that our number would be called. Spoiler Alert: My number was not called. Womp Womp! Even though I was delighted I was a bit jealous of some of the dope prizes the ladies won. Gifts included: $50 gift card to @shopbeaulahandrose, complimentary service from D.C.’s newest beauty hub, @prmpbeauty, Bad and Bougie Mommy and me tees courtesy of @verysmartbros, 5 lucky mamas will win “Just Because” gift sets consisting of whipped shea butter and moisturizing sugar scrub from @zeninajar, one hour makeover and pampering session as professional makeup artist Kenya D., One lucky mama at #MomsWineOut will win 2 Free Hours of Service (Valued at $110!) courtesy of the @queenbeeconcierge, and thanks to @lippbeautifully, one lucky lady will win a one-month subscription to their cruelty-free lipsticks, a lip scrub AND February’s limited edition lipstick,
See what we did here, we came out, showed out and left after having a good time and created new friendships.
I invited another Mom to the #DMVMomTribe.

I had a great time and met some really dope ladies. Thanks so much for inviting me into this dope mom club 🙂
You are so welcome.
Sounds like a very cool event. Great turnout. But, I mean who can turn down wine! Glad you enjoyed yourself!
Right Donna, we never say no to wine. It was nice to see so many Moms out on a Wednesday.
I love Red Rocks! Your DC tribe stays in the move, lol
I’m a new fan, I will be back. Aija you are right, we stay on the move.
This looked like a fun night. I’m in the DMV I’ll check out her IG in order to attend the next one! Awesome post!
Please do, we would love to see you.
OMGoodness it looks like so much fun. I’m getting together w/ some moms next month for a bit of a reunion centered around wine!
Oh yes Joyce, I hope you gals have a great time.
Glad you got to have a fun night out! The event looks fab, and you and all of the moms looked so cute!
Thanks Kasi, it is nice to make sure we still got it.
Now, I need this in my life! And those cupcakes look divine!
Right, the desserts are always amazing.
Looks and sounds like you ladies have an awesome evening! Pass me a glass please and thank you!
Indeed Jazz, cheers to you too.
You two look like you enjoyed some grown and sexy fun. Every now and then we need to hang out. BTW, the cupcakes looked so delicious.
We do Elle as moms we forget that sometimes.
That sounds like such a fun night out! It sounds like they event was done up right, too! Good planning.
Robin it was done just right, I felt like a fly Mom.
Yessss, looks like you ladies had a blast! I agree on the cupcakes too, they look awesome!
Thanks Lisa, cupcakes make everything better.
Doesn’t it just make your whole day or evening when you find a parking space close to the door. You know it is going to be a great evening. The cupcakes and drinks looks over the top delicious. Looks like you enjoyed yourself.
It really does Candy, and it set the tone for my evening. I had an amazing time.
It looks like you had a great, rejuvenating night! Those cupcakes look delicious. I’m going to have to try to create them!
Christy, you can totally recreate them.
This looks like so much fun! I would love attend a mom’s wine out event! Any reason to get together with moms and have a good time works for me!
Lisa, you are my kind of gal.
Sounds like you had a great time! Too bad you didn’t win the raffle though, those sound like some great prizes.
I know right Pam, next time I’m so winning.
The cupcakes with the strawberries on top look so cute! I like that they are covered in purple. And I think anyone and wine is a good combo.
Right Katie, wine goes with everything.
Wow, it looks like you ladies had a wonderful time. Those cupcakes look soooo good.
They were so delicious.
Nothing at all strange about moms out and wine! It would be strange without it! Lol. With that said, I love the events you post about! This looks like a great event!
Ha, it would be strange without it. Thanks Jacqui. I’m such a extrovert.
You know sometimes moms just have to get out of the house and have some fun. I think it makes us better moms in the end we can have fun and do something for ourselves. What a fun event. You can’t go wrong with wine!
Right Heather, we have to unwind so we can keep being the amazing women we were created to be.
It sounds like you all had a fun time with each other. I love the way those strawberries dipped in purple look, it’s great!
We had such a great time, I love when you can connect with people organically.
Looks like you and your friends had a good time. Unfortunately, I do not go out with friends as often as I wish because of too many obligations I have to meet. On some occasions when I do have time to meet up with friends, it would be a casual dinner in a quiet restaurant.
That sounds like a great time Annemarie. The important part is that you make the time to get out. We all need to recharge.
Looks like so much fun! Would love to do something like this, out of my comfort zone but would be a lot of fun!
Jeanine, stepping out of our comfort zone is the hardest part sometimes.
Those cupcakes look like the perfect treat for a perfect night out! I’m definitely jealous I wasn’t able to experience it myself! Thank you for sharing and showing us how much fun Mom’s night out can be!
Susan organize a Moms Night Out in your neck of the woods. I bet you gals would have a great time.
I love those cute cupcakes! I’m sure you also had fun night out!
They were so cute, thanks.
OH my gosh how fun. I need a moms wine out day soon. Those cupcakes look absolutely amazing and so does the beverages.
I think we all need a Moms Wine Out here and there Terri. I say go for it, you deserve it.
Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. I would enjoy something like this too. I think it’s great to get friends together.
I think so too Kathy, it is a great way to make new girlfriends.
I am not a mom but it sounds like a much needed fun time. Those cupcakes look so delicious. I would like a couple for myself right now.
It is a stone cold good time.
