New York Fashion Week: KYBOE! & Dan Liu
Hey Cuties,
I’m back from an incredible weekend. BUCKET LIST CHECK! Babe and I tramped around the bustling streets of New York for three days. The purpose of our trip was to attend a show at Fashion Week. That turned into two shows for me. I didn’t want to do too much for my first run out of the gate. I did both shows on Saturday, my first show was at 10AM (Shout out to Lesha) and my other show was at 1PM. They were on opposite sides of town because that is the real experience. I took an Uber-Pool over, that was an experience in and of itself.
KYBOE! {key-boo}
Let me start with what I wore, this is fashion week, FASHION WEEK PEOPLE. So I wanted to be fashionable, but how fashionable was the question. I didn’t want to break the bank, I didn’t know what I wanted to go for, I had zero ideas with a side of I don’t have the answers. I went to visit one of my favorite websites, I browsed dresses and nothing spoke to me. So I went to the skirts and around page number 12 or something it found me. That is when you know it is meant to be, I ordered it without hesitation. I didn’t know what I would put on my top or bottom but at least I had something to work with. Note: My original Fashion Show invite came from the folks at Kyboe!, they are a watch company.
I went for a classic white t-shirt that I already owned from Target. My skirt is from Choies {All of their everything runs small.} It was less than $30 and my Vince Camuto Signature heels I purchased last year. I was in that skirt honey, no room for food or breath. It was a medium but I told you it runs small. I usually wear a size 2/4.
Now this is what you call riding in style. They had a variety of themed vehicles outside of the fashion venues. The one in the picture above is really cute as well.
This cutie pie was in line with her Mom. So cute, she was getting all of the attention.
While still in line waiting to enter Ice-T and his wife Coco walked right past us. They were attending the Kyboe show as well.
Calling all Old School Rap fans and new aged Law & Order SVU fans.
One cool guy to another. Babe spoke and they shook hands. They ending up sitting four rows ahead of us inside the show.
These fun foam fingers were on our seats when we arrived. They were so true to the Bigger is Better theme that KYBOE is known for.
I freaking love this watch, I’ve been wearing it for a solid week now. I’ve had several men ask me about it, so let me just tell you. The style name is Black Shadow, and it is part of the Power Collection, Black Series. Are you noticing a theme yet? It is big as hell because I like to stay true to a theme so it is a size 55mm. It is very sleek yet sexy, it says a lot without being overstated. It is Black bezel, which sounds so classy to me; oh and a dope light for night time viewing. 😉
For those that speak watch let me break it down without all the fluff: Movement: Quartz Movement Case and Dial: Sizes: 40mm, 48mm, 55mm : Black Colored Stainless Steel Case : Mineral Glass : Screw Down Crown : LED Light : Luminous Hands and Numbers Band: Silicone Water Resistance: Up to 100m (10 ATM)
Did you get all of that? I sure hope so. You can purchase online at KYBOE! or Nordstrom or Saks Fifth Avenue.
KYBOE! is a watch company so I was trying to figure out how that would work for a runway show. They were so fun and so creative.
Styling it up in their KYBOE watches.
I didn’t even know Star Trek actor George Takei was in the place. He was sitting a few rows down from us with this husband Brad.
The video version.
I must admit I wasn’t familiar with Dan Liu but I enjoyed the show. He is a Canadian designer and this is his second time showing at Fashion Week. Oh, and he is my first.
I covered this show for someone else and my ticket was for standing room only. Right before the show starts they fill in the empty seats with the “standing room” people. I got there early so I was near the top of the line, and got a seat.
