Ubiquitous Expo Recap
Happy Friday Cuties,
I told you I had a busy weekend Saturday was Diner En Blanc and I covered Ubiquitous on Sunday. Ubiquitous is a full two day event but I couldn’t make it out on Saturday. So I had to max out my experience on Sunday. Let me tell you something, life was given. I’ll tell you why in a minute.
I attended this event as press and received complimentary admission.
Ubiquitos is a lot of things, it isn’t your typical expo and I think that is why it is so popular. Ubiquitos has celebrities, entertainers, panelists, workshops, vendors and a bit of fitness. I told you they had a little bit of everything. On top of that they had giveaways, tutorials and you could even get your hair and or makeup done.
Sunday was like an episode of Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday. Yolanda Adams and Maurette Brown Clark were there. OH EM GEE!!!!
ENTERTAINMENT:
When you see Yolanda Adams name you know it is going to be serious.
Gospel Legend Yolanda Adams was there to deliver the word. She kept it real with us and sang her face off. She sang my favorite songs too.
Open My Heart 00:00 & The Battle is The Lord’s 07:15
Gospel Recording Artist Maurette Brown Clark participated in a panel discussion titled “Teach Me How to Pray”. After that she took the mic and did what she does best. You can also hear her on Sound of Praise Radio Show – Baltimore/Philly, 10AM – 3PM
Just Want to Praise You 00:00 & I Hear the Sound (of Victory) 04:56
The dope thing about Ubiquitous is the energy is contagious. It is positive, motivating, empowering and honest.
You always hear laughter is good for the soul but when Marcus took the stage it was an understatement. This man is so freaking hilarious. My stomach was hurting and my eye were running. He is a Christian comedian but he is real and you can relate to the things he is saving. Classic!
Singer Chante Moore participated in a panel discussion titled “What Do Men Really Want”.
FASHION SHOW:
They fused hair, fashion and style into the mix. I’m talking live hair demonstrations, kid’s fashion, men’s fashion, women’s fashion. They had women aged 50+ modeling and killing it.
VENDORS:
Gym Wrap was the most popular booth at the expo. Hollywood actress Nicole Ari Parker {Boogie Nights, Remember the Titans & Soul Food} owners the business and her handsome husband Actor Boris Kodjoe {Love & Basketball, Soul Food, Brown Sugar & Real Husbands of Hollywood} was supporting and snapping pictures. Fun Facts: Nicole is from Baltimore, Maryland. Boris is from Austria and didn’t speak English when he came to the US.
Now they are a Hollywood Power couple. They have been married 11 years, that is a life time in Hollywood and they have two beautiful kids.
Ambi has been in the business of getting your skin right for many years now.
Motions was in their booth laying hair honey. They were showing us how to use their products to get our desired results.
These Eyes of Mines had a mean eye wear collection. I love to rock dope frames for sport and they had so many to choose from.
Uncle Funky’s Daughter is a company that makes sustainable products chemical-free hair. I’ve always loved their name. Plus have you seen their packaging it is absolutely gorgeous! One of my friends is starting her own cosmetics business and she has looked extensively at packagings like Uncle Funky’s Daughter for its colors and uniqueness, and did you know that you can get wholesale packaging from companies like Impacked Packaging to get your products out into the market place quicker! Amazing right?!?
Curls is a company geared to a market that has always been under-served. Their festive flower sign was so freaking cute.
ORS was the one booth I wanted to visit the most. I’ve been a fan of their conditioner packet since 2005; it feels and smells amazing. I’ve been rocking with it all these years later. Before I came to the show I had to was my Little Cutie’s hair and at least blow it out. I used the ORS Olive Oil shampoo and let me just tell you how it changed our entire life. Her hair was so freaking soft and it had a natural shine I’ve never seen it have. Routine switch! I will be updating her Haircare Routine ASAP.
Then I get there and find out ORS now has hair color. SHUT YOUR MOUTH! They must’ve known my color needs a retouching up terribly. Color is generally harsh on our hair but ORS has added a vitamin boost to their coloring system. YES LORD!
CVS Health, Because beauty is healthy and you can’t be all the way cute unless you are healthy. They were in here getting folks checked up and checked out. CVS has also taken over the pharmacy area in Target stores. Fun Fact: When I was in High School I worked at CVS for almost two years.
Milani cosmetics was there beating down faces.
Mitra’s had some really dope bath products. I always love these bath bombs. I love the look of different types of bath bombs and their smells, from Pink bath bombs to multicolored, you can get a wide range now.
I’ve got to find the artist behind this booth. His work was so freaking dope.
I love me some Alikay Naturals, their lemongrass leave in conditioner is one of my freaking favorites.
You already know I usually go for a comfy cute type of vibe. Today was no different, this look is a staple for me. Graphic t-shirt + pencil skirt + chucks.
