5 Reasons Why LEAP is My Word for the Year

Hey Cuties,

I shared my 2017 Goals with you. I’ve set up my planner and I’m living up to my word for the year three days in. I am someone who is easily inspired but I also fail to execute my vision 100%. Last year my word was action and I did that, but I need to take that action to the next level.

Word for the Year

This year I am pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. Instead of asking and getting an unfavorable response and doing nothing I’m going to the next level.  I have to do what I’m afraid to do to get to where I want to go. This isn’t anything crazy or shady, this is accepting that no isn’t final but simply a jumping off point for negotiations.

Vision boards are really popular and I made one last year. I think they are helpful reminders. However they don’t just manifest in your life unless you facilitate the process. We have to do the things to get the things.

Thanks to Moms ‘N Charge and Bold and Fearless recent TV appearance I also learned that you have to write your vision down. Because they are amazing I listened and I wrote down my leap strategy. When you write your vision they suggest you write it as if it has happened already. I love that idea, so mine would say “I had the most amazing time on the red carpet of the award show. I interviewed some of my favorite celebrities and it was a dream come true.”

Every desired outcome must be paired with an action. In order for me to leap into this amazing body I want to have I must leap my tail off the sofa and exercise. I can’t just want it and not do anything. Actually I can, that is the story of my life HOWEVER I’m going to change that. I think there is a bad connection with my ESP and that is why it hasn’t just happened for me or you.

Reading these motivate me…

After all of that they also suggest that we do a monthly evaluation. *dramatic music* This is a great way to see how we are doing. Do we need to change up our leaping technique? Have we leaped farther then we thought we would by this time? Do we need to increase our leaping in order to achieve our goal?

#1 I grow when I push myself beyond my comfort zone.

#2 I have to do what I’m afraid to do to get to where I want to go.

#3 No is not a final answer.

#4 My desired outcomes are paired with an action

#5 Because you can do it.

When I saw “leap,” I immediately thought of Leapfrog. #mombrain Loved your book selections on Instagram, and loving tip #2, especially because my word for 2017 is fearless. We have to be willing to step out of our comfort zones (and off of our couches) and do scary things (like Zumba) in order to grow!

    • MimiCuteLips

Tiffani, that is hilarious but it totally works. LeapFrog helps our children learn and get to the next level. They are leaping too girl.

I love Zumba that was my fitness choice last year.

  2. Shelly

I think it’s super important to set goals but better than that, the action plan. I do agree that the monthly evaluation is something we should do just to make sure we are hitting the marks that we intended on. Looking forward to see what you do!

  3. Kayvona

I am all for it! I need this to be my theme for my year also!!

Great word of the year! People often say the first step to solving a problem is knowing you have a problem, in my opinion the first step is doing something about the problem. Look forward to reading about your leaps in 2017

    • MimiCuteLips

Yes Tiffany, it is so easy for us to complain while taking no action. I do it all the time and it doesn’t get me to my desire result.

This is great and I truly hope you leap into and beyond all the goals you set for yourself this year! I do the same where I write my intentions as they’ve already happened. I’ve never done a vision board before, but I’ve heard people really like doing them. I’m a notebook person so I don’t think a vision board is that different from writing your thoughts and goals down in a notebook. Thanks for the idea. I love your word. Its a good one. My word last year was simplify…I’m not sure what my word will be this year.

    • MimiCuteLips

Heather a notebook can totally work for sure. I’m a writing type of person. Simplify is a good one too Heather, I like that.
