Capital Solstice DC Event Recap
Hey Cuties,
Last Friday Babe and I set out on a working date to the Capital Solstice Black Tie Cocktail Dinner by TTC Private Chefs & Dinning Services. The event boast about a nine course meal and a magical experience. That did happen, but not like you’re thinking. Can you really sit down and eat a nine course meal? If you answered yes you are a totally fatty, and we should do lunch. *High Five* The meal was served in a traditional tapas style; small plates. This wasn’t a sit and eat time of affair. The goal is for you to eat and mix and mingle while enjoying the entertainment.
I received a free ticket to cover this event. These are clearly my own thoughts and feelings as we have an understanding about the truth here on mimicutelips.com.
VIDEO RECAP
They didn’t announce the venue until 48 hours prior to the event. *insert suspenseful music here* The event was held at Echostage. Echostage is DC’s largest concert/night life venue at 30,0000 plus square feet. Think wide open warehouse type of deal with a sound stage with two 60 foot bars on each side.
When I enter the venue, the first thing I see is this chocolate deliciousness below. I had no idea what it was but I immediately though cocktail.
I was right, BomBom is a premium Caribbean rum with cream and chocolate with a coconut and coffee flavor.
Thanks to Babe, this is what I really looked like to get this shot.
Car service Lyft was there with these really cute pink mustaches. I totally want one. They had a discount code that saved us $15 on our first two rides if we signed up.
They transformed this warehouse to this gorgeous late night hideout. Flower petals, candles REAL ACTUAL BURNING CANDLES. I loved the attention to detail. These days you see a lot of battery operated candles and they serve their purpose but real candles get the mood popping a bit differently. The music was playing and the energy was good.
Babe and I got all kinds of right and fancy. Photographer fail for not capturing my hot ass shoes. UGH!
Shirt: NY&CO $12 | Skirt: Choies $30 | Shoes: Vince Camuto $100+ | Necklace: H&M $15
The voice that most folks in the DMV know was our Emcee for the evening. None other than Guy Lambert of the WPGC 95.5 morning show with Joe Clair.
Baby I’m a star!
Do we have any Project Runway fans in the house? Do have any Project Runway Season 5 & All Stars fans? If so, then you already know this beauty. While she was on the carpet taking photos she looked over to me and validated my entire outfit. Head to toe yall a fashion designer told me my look was E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G! I don’t know what tickles your fancy in life but this validation gave me my entire life and the future lives to come. HELL YEAH!

Course 1: Seafood Corn Chowder, Bay Scallops, Jumbo lump crab with Old Bay. This was my favorite.
Course 2: Roasted Root Vegetable Salad, Broiled cashew, smoked lardon, citrus-thyme vinaigrette with Parmesan croutons
Question: WTH is a lardon? Answer: is a small strip or cube of pork fat used in a wide variety of cuisines to flavor savory foods and salads
Course 3: Spring Salad, Spring mix, apple, pear and roasted muster vinaigrette with Parmesan croutons {Not pictured}
Course 4: Pan Roasted Salmon Fricassee, with lentils and brown butter

Course 7: Ratatouille Au Gratin, Parmesan crumb, thyme, rosemary {Not pictured}
Course 8: Nutella Mousse, Peanut butter, deconstructed brownie

Babe wore dress shoes although he had on Nike’s in this picture. We had a really good time, we looked good, we were in the company of some great people. Some old friends and some new friends.
