Have You Seen My Easy DIY Beaded Boyfriend Jean Tutorial?

Hey Cuties,

Week one of 2017 is a wrap. I hope you’ve adjusted to your regular schedule. It started it out a bit rough for us but the kids got the swing of it. LittleCuteLips turns five next week and I’m knee deep in party planning. Because I am the Craft Queen I insist on doing it DIY style.

I took a break from party planning to do this DIY boyfriend jean. I was inspired back in October but life was busy.

In October Tarjai P. Henson was doing a book tour for her new book and I had a front row seat for her DC visit. Peep her boyfriend jeans, they have diamond like cat faces on them, they are so stinking cute. I hate cats so I wasn’t going that route but I wanted to do some beading.

You need a pair of boyfriend jeans, beads, needle and thread. Did you peep my old school pink tomato pin cushion?  My grandmother would be so proud of me.

Mossimo Boyfriend jeans

I purchased my boyfriend jeans from Target. They were on sale during the holidays.  You can get yours from wherever. I chose these because they are loose style of jean.

You can use any beads you want. I had these left over from my Camo Jacket tutorial so I used them.  I don’t recommend using really big beads because the weight of them will make your pants heavy. My beads are five different sizes.

Up close of the finished product

This is a really easy DIY, it requires no prior craft experience.  #1 Thread your needle and knot the end. #2 Run the needle up from the inside of the jean. #3 Put a bead on your thread. #4 Put the thread back inside the jean. Even though I went for a cluster look I secured the bead one at a time. #5 Keep going until you have achieved the look you want.

Finished Product

All done, I love the way they turned out.  I didn’t have an exact pattern in mind, so I free handed the design. I made sure I didn’t put any beads around the knee area because I didn’t think it would be comfortable.
