Essence Festival Recap: Musician Edition

Hey Cuties,

Happy Monday, I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was full, on Friday I attempted a DIY #fail. On Saturday I attended the WOE Magazine Launch which was amazing. I followed that up with a baby shower with the family; I won two games. *body roll* Sunday we went jumping around at an indoor trampoline place with friends, it was 21 of us in total.  After all that jumping we hit up the Silver Diner still 21 deep. Add in a couple of errands and then back home. Did you tune into the first episode of season 3 of POWER? The cast of Power was at Essence Festival but I didn't get a chance to catch up with them. I did however catch up with all of these singers; I can't wait to spill the tea below.

Essence Festival Recap: Actors Edition

Hey Cuties, This has been a tough week, I was all excited about sharing my Essence experience and then I couldn't form the words. Real life is happening and it had me stuck. I have two black men in my home that I worry about constantly. I don't want anyone to be threatened by the color of their skin. In the spirit of all of this brown-ness I'm sharing part 2 of my trip.

Jenni Pulos, reality TV star of the Bravo show Flipping Out

Hey Cuties, I had the honor and pleasure of chatting with Jenni Pulos of the Bravo's show Flipping Out. I started watching this show in 2007 and I loved it.  Jenni started out as the Executive Assistant to Jeff Lewis on the show.  Over the years, she has grown to do much more than that.  Jeff has a very type-a personality; that means he is always reading someone and his interactions with people are classically funny. Jenni is hilarious in her own right and full of life; that was evident in our chat.

Big Wheeling it with a GMC Yukon Denali

Hey Cuties,

I was riding around and getting it for a full week thanks to the dope folks at GMC. Yes they gave me a GMC Yukon, Denali fully loaded and sent me on my way. This truck made me feel like I was in charge, like seriously I had a big ego, a real big ego. It was like driving a new age spaceship. I know I've seen this in a movie somewhere.

Hey Cuties, Friday is here and the week has been beautiful in the DC area; I'm talking 70+ temperatures. I've had my bare legs out for two days now. I can go out for lunch with no jacket, but my nose is itchy and my eyes are puffy. SPRING IS THAT YOU? It has been a minute, please pull up a chair and stay a while. With that said let's talk #FATSNACKS, this week we are talking about lean meats. I hit up Zumba on Wednesday and had a great time. I'm trying to twerk this body into shape as much as possible.

Race Red Carpet, Screening with Actor Stephan James

Hey Cuties, Did you watch the dry Superbowl 50? Were you mad that Cam didn't win? Did you think it was rigged for Petyon? Are you like I don't even know who those people are because Beyonce showed up and showed out? I loved the Bruno & Beyonce battle dance. Beyonce broke the internet this Saturday when she released her new song/video of Formation. If that wasn't enough she performed during the Half Time show and announced her Formation tour at the same dam time. Her marketing skills are on 1,000.

Real Money Answers for Every Woman

Hey Cuties,

I've been selfish, I meal REAL selfish. I shared my 2016 goals with you and they included me getting my entire life together. One of my goals was to read more and Patrice Washington is out here saving souls one coin at time. It was so good I had to quit being selfish and share with my favorite cuties. I want us all to win in life, I'm only as good as the people I surround myself with right? Right! So let's win together, cheers to kicking @$$ and taking names in 2016.

Kicking … and taking names. Hello 2016

Happy Hump Day!  My schedule says we are back at work, but my body hasn't gotten the memo yet.  I shared my year in review with you and the reception made me feel like a rock star.  Now I want to share my 2016 with you. Buckle up, you know for safety, don't touch the radio but by all means do enjoy these jams. It's a new year but I'm the same Cutie, just turning up on these dreams.  I'm sharing them with you because you're my cuties; and you will keep me accountable.

Happy New Year : MimiCutelips 2015 Year in Review

Hey Cuties,

We are down to the last day of 2015, Happy New Year! I appreciate you for rocking with me. I hope I've shared something that connected with you one way or another.  I read all your comments and I try to reply to each of them. I don't take your time for granted, you could be anywhere in the world but I appreciate that you come here to chat with me. This year has been major in a rather low key kind of way. Sometimes it takes some reflecting to realize just how far you've come. That applies across the board in life, when we are in the thick of things it's hard to realize the how far we've come. 2015 was a year of preparation for me and let me tell you MIMICUTELIPS IS READY HONEY!

Salt-N-Pepa’s Here

Hey Cuties, I'm taking a break from all things Christmas to talk about a blast from my past. I spent the first seven years of my life living in the Bronx, New York. I lived on East 22nd Second Street between Barnes & Bronxwood and I loved our block. Rap music was bursting on the scene and it was a great time to live in New York. My sister is six years older than me and was all about her music. That means I was introduced to artist such as Salt-N-Pepa much earlier that my peers. Get up on this!
